Sinusitis in the child: treatment and encouraging prognosis

Today, in modern pediatrics, a very common problem is sinusitis in a child, whose treatment requires the timely response of vigilant parents. However, before talking about productive treatment, it is necessary to fully understand the essence of this pathology. So, with genyantritis there is a difficult nasal breathing, accompanied by swelling of the nasal mucosa and pain sensations in the area of the maxillary sinuses. The cause of the progression of this ailment in the child's organism is swelling of the mucous membrane. If in the prevailing microflora pathogenic microbes multiply, purulent inflammation comes. That is why the basis of treatment is the main task of eliminating the mucosal edema, as a result of which the inflammatory process is noticeably receding.

Very often, a complication after an acute respiratory viral infection or a rhinitis of a different nature and becomes a sinusitis in a child whose treatment is very protracted. Perhaps, each child inevitably suffers similar virus diseases, which are especially aggravated in the autumn-winter period. In addition, it should be remembered that it is during this period that the immunity of the child is significantly weakened and systematically subjected to attacks from pathogens, so watchful parents should regularly take all preventive measures in order to protect their baby from infectious infections.

Runny nose is one of the main signs of such a disease as sinusitis in a child, the treatment of which should be started as soon as possible. After all, it can acquire a chronic form or be modified into a more terrible disease - meningitis, which is already characterized by inflammation of the membranes of the brain.

Do not forget the fact that the immunity of pregnant women is just as fragile as the children's immune system, so sinusitis during pregnancy is also a common phenomenon that requires urgent attention. It is important to emphasize here that when diagnosing pediatric sinusitis and with the prevalence of sinusitis in pregnant women, the treatment has a similar character.

Treatment of maxillary sinitis is complex and involves the use of drugs that are directed to the extermination of pathogenic infection, and the implementation of local procedures that significantly strengthen the weakened immunity in disease. Sometimes there is a surgical intervention, but such manipulations are performed only according to the expert's testimony.

The first step in productive treatment is to clearly listen to all the doctor's recommendations, the second one - to remove the swelling of the nasal mucosa, the third - to ensure the release of mucus from the maxillary sinuses, and then to find out the main cause of this pathological process. So, medical treatment establishes the use of antibiotics (Isofra, Bioparox) and antihistamines (Protargol, Collargol), and the use of drops (Nazivin, Rinazolinum, Naphthysine) and sprays and diligent performance of physiotherapy procedures. Here it is important to understand that it is not necessary to take the recommended drops continuously for a long time, since there is an addictive effect, so it is advisable to periodically change the medical product, and it is better to replace it with a spray or an aerosol. Also, a systematic wash of the nose is carried out in order to eliminate the accumulated mucus as quickly as possible along with bacteria, dust and allergies in the maxillary sinuses and to suppress pathogenic puffiness.

If there is a sinusitis in the child, the treatment can be surgical. Its essence lies in the implementation of the puncture of the maxillary sinus, which provides an opportunity to pump out purulent masses from the sinuses and introduce restorative drugs. In general, timely treatment gives positive results.
