Similan Islands - a paradise on earth

Thailand has become a country where the flow of tourists in recent years has greatly increased. Certainly, places where it will be pleasant to spend time in this part of the world abound, ranging from various islands to continental rest. Beaches and clean water of various seas can be enjoyed in plenty. But if someone suddenly visited the island of Phuket or Ko Chang, and never heard of a trip to the Similan Islands, the rest was wasted.

A small prehistory

Just 70 kilometers from the shores of Phang Nga Province, the virgin archipelago, which was declared a national park only thirty years ago, is of extraordinary beauty. Nine absolutely different, amazing and unique islands gathered in one place and gave humanity the opportunity to plunge into the irresistible beauty of nature.

The Similan islands are as diverse as their names - Payang, Miang, Payan, Heng, Bon, Tachai, Hawk, Payu and Similan (somewhat closed to visit, since they have rocky hedges on all sides). The latter and the main one are the largest of all presented for tourists. Due to the fact that this territory is recognized as a park, a large area of islands is covered with impassable jungles and rocks.

Of course, here you can find rest not only on the surface of the land, but the water spaces allow diving and snorkeling lovers to experience all the charms of the Andaman Sea. Transparent surface almost does not hide from the eyes of tourists all the riches and attractions, located on the sandy beaches. The huge coral gardens, created by centuries of nature, allow you to immerse yourself in the real possessions of the water gods. And flashing among the sandy bottom and algae of extraordinary beauty of the fish will give an unforgettable delight and admiration to all visitors to the sea kingdom. As park keepers assure, you can sometimes see a whale shark or a pack of sea turtles.

In any case, the Similan Islands remain part of the park, and most of all they amaze people with nature, which is kept by the royal family of Thailand flawlessly. On Similan and Miang, the leadership of these protected areas is located, from where boats often depart, which patrol the sea space near the archipelago. Access of tourists to the islands is closed from May to October due to weather conditions.

In general, this type of vacation is best for tourists who prefer wild and unexplored places to noisy beaches and nightclubs. There are no hotels and bars here, but there are many bungalows and tent camps for travelers who want to stay overnight and taste some more of the beauty that nature has given to the Similan Islands.

To make sure of this personally, you need to browse a few reviews of tourists who have visited the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea. No matter how many people search, but negative posts or any indignation about the virginity of the virgin islands, it is unlikely to be found. This place is as if created under a protective dome, where the ecological situation simply makes the head spin and enjoy cleanliness. Just look at the Similan Islands, photos of which are easy to find on the Internet, and everything falls into place.

It is noteworthy that a voucher to this national park is considered accessible to most tourists. The only thing that you can buy it is in Phuket or Ko Chang, as well as in the town of Taplama, where the boat usually leaves for the archipelago. The trip to the Similan Islands is worth its worth, if not more. 2 500 baht - this is not such a large amount, which is an obstacle to get unforgettable sensations.
