Cayman Islands - a holiday for every taste

In the northwest of the Caribbean Sea, between Cairo and Jamaica are the Cayman Islands. This archipelago includes three islands: Cayman-Brack, Little Cayman and Grand Cayman. They belong to the British Empire and are governed by the governor, who represents the Queen of Great Britain. The islands were discovered in 1503, and Columbus, of course, did it. He then encountered in these waters with a lot of sea turtles and therefore called these islands a turtle, or Las Tortugas. But later they were renamed the Cayman Islands due to the fact that these reptiles were also abundant in the islands.

But this is all history and now the Caymans are beautiful islands for recreation. There are wonderful beaches with white sand, many places for snorkeling and diving, as well as a developed tourist infrastructure. The climate is tropical, trade-wind, and the average monthly temperature varies between +15 - +30 degrees. The period from May to October is the rainy season. On the islands there are short-term showers, and the air temperature keeps at the mark of 29 degrees. And the rest of the time it's dry and even a little cool. The average daily temperature is in the range of +17 - +24 degrees. Even in the summer in these waters there are often hurricanes and storms.

And the capital of the islands is the city of Georgetown. And in this quite modern city preserved a modest historical center. It practically did not change since the end of the 18th century. And in the oldest house of this city is the National Museum, which is considered the best on the Caribbean islands. Also in Georgetown there is the Sea Museum of Treasures of Cayman, which has a diorama dedicated to the days when the Cayman Islands were the center of seafaring.

Georgetown itself is basically a shopping and banking center. But next to him along the banks of the West Bay stretched Seven Mile Beach (Seven Mile Beach). And the entire coastal strip near this beach is literally full of restaurants and hotels. And on the beach, vacationers will find ancient white sand, modern service and excellent conditions for diving and other types of water sports.

And the island of Little Cayman is a great place for diving and beach holidays. Also on it is preserved a relatively untouched nature. There are many wastelands and marshes, on which live thousands of birds. And in the north-west of the island are such famous diving sites as Jackson Point and Bloomy Bay Wall. And the colony of frigates and red-footed boobies resides in the Naturey Pound Nace Reserve reserve. Still here you can visit the lighthouse, located in the west of the island. From its height you can see the island of Cayman-Braque and the azure-blue waters of the Caribbean Sea.

And the third island that enters the Cayman Islands is Cayman Brac. It is the smallest and wildest in the whole archipelago and is overgrown with cacti, orchids and fruit trees. On it there are suitable places for fans of speleology. They can investigate the numerous caves and caverns that are located on the northern shore and under the tail. And in these caverns, according to local legends, pirates hid their treasures. Still on this island is the best site for snorkeling. And on this site, besides the usual reefs, there is another attraction. It is a Russian destroyer, which was specially flooded in 1996. And they did it so that tourists could feel themselves as underwater archaeologists.

Also on these islands a completely civilized recreation is available. Cayman Islands - a lot of hotels of different star. Many of them are resort centers. And on their territory there are swimming pools, beauty salons, golf courses and other amenities. And in some hotels there are even own diving schools. There are also hotels with apartments, which are focused on family accommodation. And the rooms in these hotels are often decorated in national traditions and equipped with modern amenities, such as a refrigerator, air conditioning and other. Also, most of these hotels offer their guests a full board. And these hotels belong to large international hotel brands, such as Hyatt, Ritz-Carlton and Marriot. So the Cayman Islands are all kinds of recreation.
