A bit of history

After the revolution, the estate was a sanatorium and a holiday home. In the war years, there was a hospital here, also during the war, the evacuees brought relatives of leading workers from the capital.

Description of the estate

In addition to the palace, to this day, preserved office buildings, a stone fence, parks with ponds and other attractions, made in the landscape style of a truly Russian farmstead.

On the grounds of the estate stands Michael-Archangel Church, the money for the construction of which was collected by the whole world. To the left of the church there is a crypt of Peter Sheremetyev. On the promenade there is a swimming pool with a fountain, flower beds with flowers are everywhere, the lawn is green.

The main entrance to the building is not opposite the Volga, but on the other side. It was from here that the rich carriages came to the castle, following the beautiful park.

Legend of the Manor

The story told by local guides is connected with the dissolute life of the Count and his cruelty. At one time he liked a serf girl named Palasha, who did not answer the count with reciprocity and hit him on the head with a candlestick. For such an act the girl was immured in the cellar of the manor, and now her ghost wanders through the rooms at night.

During excursions in the estate, the groups descend to this cellar, where wine and various supplies were previously stored. The room is very large. According to guides, during the excavations, human bones were actually found here.
