Never once has he been in the hands of enemies, and therefore preserved all the historical and cultural values that Russians and foreign visitors are eager to see.

The monastery acquired the status of monasteries by the middle of the 18th century.

During the Soviet era, the laurel suffered: many of its monuments were destroyed or severely damaged. However, unlike the fate of many religious buildings of that time, the Trinity-Sergius Lavra waited for a more successful period - it continued to function, but was called the Zagorsk Monastery. According to some sources, during the Soviet era the laurel was abolished.

Attention to the spiritual relic of the Russian people returned after the Great Patriotic War. For a long time, restoration work was carried out on its territory. Some objects required partial reconstruction. Thanks to Russian restorers, we can visit this important place for every Russian person. In addition, Sergiev Posad is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Of course, the Trinity-Sergius Lavra is considered the most important sight of the city. The unique spiritual values of the Russian people are collected here - the Trinity Cathedral, the Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit, the five-tiered bell tower, etc. For the iconostasis of the Trinity Cathedral, the famous Russian icon painter Andrei Rublev painted the icon "Holy Trinity". In addition to Rublev's icons, the cathedral is famous for the works of the icon painter Daniil Chernoy.
