Over the years, few people have a prayer experience. Only in difficult worldly situations and at the moment of trials do we become obedient disciples of God's word, we ask for mercy. At the same time, a sophisticated prayer science suits us, there are strengths and zeal for its knowledge. Many people remember the prayer of Saint Anastasia the Defiant. The more terrible the test, the more abilities awaken in our souls.

The old rumor says: "Do not renounce prison and baggage." The deprivation of liberty is too serious a test. Being at large, a rare lost soul listened to the exhortation of relatives, according to a warning. Here, in the dungeon, the meaning of life comes to many. The soul trembles with joyful joy. And time hurts, means, there is a hope for convalescence.

To the charitable deeds of her it is possible to attribute the fact that she buried the remains of the martyrs after the execution in the Christian way. 1700 years have passed since that time, but the image of it still helps all those who ask, strengthens the spirit in a difficult moment.

Holy Great Martyr Anastasia the Obscenitelnitsa

On the icons, the great martyr Anastasia is depicted holding a cross and oil in her hands. The cross, as is known, is the way to salvation, but the oil does not heal any wounds. Getting rid of sins, lack of faith, passions, any heavy bond - that's what the name Uzozreshitelnitsa means. Despite the fact that 1700 years have passed since ancient times, Holy Anastasia has been healing the souls of suffering people, going to the prisoners in prison, gives hope for the salvation of the soul. In the distant 304, Anastasia took martyrdom for the Christian faith, it happened during Diocletian's reign in the city of Sirmium.

Saint Anastasia is one of the seven women whose name is mentioned in the Roman canon of the Mass. It is also present in the Catholic litanies to all saints. The iconographic symbols of Anastasia the Defiler are a bottle with oil, a cross, or a palm branch.

In addition to all of the above, Anastasia Usozreshitelnitsa is considered the patroness of all pregnant women. On the day of St. Anastasia (December 22) in Russia, women in bed-clothes prayed and embroidered a towel, which at one time helped them safely and easily to be relieved of their burdens.

The Life of Saint Anastasia the Obsceneurs

Anastasia was born in Rome, in the family of a wealthy senator, whose name was Pretext. He was a pagan, and her mother Faustus secretly worshiped Christ. Favsta gave to the education of Anastasia Saint Chrysogon, who was famous for his scholarship. He taught the girl the law of God and the Holy Scripture. Anastasia studied diligently and proved herself as wise and intelligent. After the mother of Anastasia died, the father, against the will of her daughter, married her to Pomplia. Under the pretext of a contrived disease Anastasia managed to keep her virginity in marriage.

Faith in Christ never left Anastasia, from an early age she did charitable deeds. Accompanied by a maid, dressed in beggarly clothes, she visited prisons, bribed guards, treated, fed prisoners who suffered for the Christian faith, and sometimes bought them freedom.

Once the servant told Pomplia about the adventures of Anastasia, he brutally punished his wife and locked her. During the confinement the virgin found a way to contact her teacher Chrisogon. In secret correspondence, he urged her to be patient, spirit, to pray and be ready for anything for her faith in the Lord. Chrisogon also predicted that soon Pomplius would perish. Indeed, going to Persia with the embassy, Anastasia's husband drowned. Having received complete freedom, Saint Anastasia began preaching the faith of Christ, distributing her property to all the suffering and destitute.

The death of Chrysogon. Wanderings of Anastasia

In those days, the persecution of Christians was particularly cruel, but the loyal subjects of Christ endured all the torment of imprisonment. The ruler of Diocletian was informed of the strength of the spirit of the prisoners, with which the Roman dungeons were crowded. He gave the order to kill everyone, and send the teachers of Chrysogon to him in Aquileia. Anastasia the Teacher followed the teacher.

The emperor himself interrogated Chrysogon, no torture broke the faith in him. Diocletian never managed to persuade Chrysogonus to renounce him. This led the teacher to perdition. The emperor ordered to behead him, and throw the body into the sea. If you believe the Divine revelation, the remains of Chrysogonas were carried ashore, and some presbyter Zoel found them. He put the body in the ark, hid it in his house.

Then the Holy Chrysogon appeared in a dream to Zoila and predicted the imminent martyrdom of three Christians - Irina, Hionia and Anapia, who lived nearby. The teacher ordered the teacher to send Anastasia to them, so that she could support them in terrible moments. Zoya was predicted by Chrysogon an ambulance, but a peaceful one. Holy Great Martyr Anastasia saw the way to Zoila, too, through a vision. Visiting the presbyter, Anastasia prayed at the body of Chrysogonus, then strengthened the faith of the three martyrs before torture, and when they gave up the spirit, she betrayed their bodies to the earth. Having fulfilled everything that the teacher Chrysogon bequeathed to her, the Holy Virgin set off on distant wanderings. By this time she had a great mastery of medicinal art, everywhere she served Christian prisoners.

Thanks to his exploits, as well as to the help rendered to the martyred prisoners, Holy Great Martyr Anastasia received the name of the Uzozreshitelnitsa. She solved it with her own labor from the grievous torments, bonds, long-suffering of many confessors of Christ.

Persecution of Christians. Tests of Great Martyr Anastasia

Saint Anastasia met once with a young pious widow named Theodosius. She became a faithful helper for the Patroness. Together they bribed the jailers. Visiting dungeons, healed the sick and wounded, brought prisoners food, consoled the condemned to death, strengthened their faith in them, communicated the departed into the other world. Icon of Saint Anastasia So it is written - the Uzoreşitelnitsa holds a vessel with sacred oil and a cross in her hands.

Soon both women went to Sirmium, where Christians were subjected to particularly brutal persecution. Diocletian ordered the execution of all Christian prisoners. Arriving in the morning in prison and seeing her empty, Anastasia began to wail loudly, cry. The jailers realized that she was a Christian. They grabbed it and sent it to the governor of the area. Learning that Anastasia belonged to the noble Roman family, she was sent for questioning to the emperor himself, because only he could decide her fate. Diocletian knew once her father - Senator Pretextat. Persuading the emperor to persuade the virgin to renounce the Christian faith, he was interested in the inheritance left by his father. Anastasia admitted that she spent all her fortune on supporting Christian prisoners. Unable to break the will of the young woman, the emperor again sent her to Iralia. The governor of the region gave Anastasia the high priest Ulpian.

Sly Ulpian put Anastasia before the choice. Luxury - gold, beautiful clothes, precious stones - on the one hand, and on the other - grave suffering and torture. His vile deceit was disgraced, the virgin rejected wealth and preferred for the sake of the faith of her torment. The Lord supported Anastasia, extended her life path. The wicked priest was hurt by the beauty, purity of Saint Anastasia and decided to desecrate her honor. But only he touched her, as soon as he went blind. Distraught with pain, Ulpian, rushing headlong, rushed to the pagan temple, all the way he called for help to his idols, but fell along the road and gave up the spirit.

Anastasia in prison, her death

After the death of the priest, Saint Anastasia gained freedom. At first she was hiding in the hilly area of Sirmium. Then again, together with Feodosia, she began to serve the suffering Christians, heal their wounds, maintain spiritually. But soon Feodosia and her sons took a martyr's death for the faith of Christ. The elder Ezov humbly demolished beatings and boldly kept to the judges. Taking long martyrdom, they died in a red-hot oven.

Saint Anastasia the Prisoner again fell into the prison of the city of Sirmium. Within sixty days she passed the test of hunger. And every night the Saint Theodosius appeared to the virgin, strengthened the spirit, encouraged Anastasia. Judge Iliriya, seeing that hunger is not terrible to a young woman, ordered to drown her with the rest of the prisoners, among whom was in those years persecuted for the faith of Eutychian. The prisoners were put on a ship and taken to the open sea. In order for the ship to flow, the guard guards pierced through it a lot of holes, and they themselves were moved to the boat and swam away, leaving the sufferers to certain death. Then Saint Theodosius appeared to the prisoners, she did not let him sink the ship, led him along the waves to the shore to the island of Palmaria. Miraculously saved all one hundred twenty prisoners believed in Christ, they accepted the baptism from Eutychian and Anastasia. They did not long rejoice in freedom, were soon seized and martyred for their faith. St. Anastasia the Martyr died over the fire. She was crucified crosswise between the pillars, then beheaded.
