Distance education differs from correspondence by the fact that, even for the delivery of sessions, you do not need to leave - exams are given through the Internet. This circumstance at admission to a higher educational institution is decisive, because it is possible for people with disabilities and other people for some reason not to leave their place of residence. One of the main advantages of distance education is the ability of the Internet to accommodate a huge amount of diverse information (various kinds of textual information and even conferences with the teacher) and regularly provide it to the student. It is possible to study remotely in any educational institution, but it is desirable to understand that teaching many professions requires the presence of a student - there are necessary not only theoretical classes, but also practice, a reasonable choice - further education based on the acquired profession.
A pleasant feature of teaching remotely, apart from sitting at home - its relative cheapness. Coupled with constant talk about the forthcoming transfer of higher education institutions to a commercial basis, this way of distance education becomes a worthy way out of the situation, due to the fact that there are no expenses that are mandatory for attending an educational institution. But there are still a lot of shortcomings in this form of education in Russia. The scheme of the education process is not developed, the developed methods need to be improved, there is practically no funding. So while for educational preparation the method of obtaining education can not provide the students' requests remotely, as in the old way of teaching internally. It should be borne in mind that this system is suitable only for responsible students, those who deal with daily.
The way of learning is remotely an important and serious method of acquiring knowledge. But like any new business, it requires refinement.
