Pulpit tooth: treatment

Pulpitis is a dental disease in which the tooth pulp is inflamed. And if you do not take any measures and do not go to the dentist, pulpitis will lead to the fact that you have to remove the nerve.

Pulpit tooth: treatment

At various stages of the development of this disease, treatment will be different.

There was a pulpitis of a tooth? Treatment of it in the first stage usually preserves the tooth tissue. In such a situation, a special ointment is superimposed on a prudently treated pulp, and then put a temporary seal. After about 7 days, if there are no complications or worsening of well-being, a temporary seal is removed. Instead, establish a constant.

If the development of the inflammatory process continues and passes into a neglected stage of pulpitis of the tooth, the treatment is the removal of the nerve of the tooth (of course, after preliminary anesthesia). When the pulp is removed, clean and seal the dental canals.

More recently, as a treatment for pulpitis, only tooth extraction with the nerve and roots was considered. This was due to the fact that there was no necessary equipment, without which it is very difficult to treat pulpitis.

Correct and, most importantly, timely treatment of pulpitis, in children especially - a pledge that teeth will serve a person for a long time.

How to treat pulpitis

Treatment of pulpitis conservative implies the preservation of the entire nerve completely. This method comes when the nerve is injured, inflamed or accidentally opened the tooth cavity. Such treatment can be called effective only when it is used in people younger than 30 years old and not suffering from chronic diseases, or in cases where treatment of pulpitis of baby teeth is required. In addition, conservative treatment can be applied at the very beginning of the disease.

In pulpitis therapy, analgesics are used. Dead cells should be completely removed, and carious cavity thoroughly cleaned. The main and most important stage of treatment of pulpitis is the laying on the bottom of the already cleared cavity of a special ointment with therapeutic properties. This ointment removes inflammation and promotes tissue regeneration.

At the first visit, the doctor will lay out the cavity with a filling material. On the next visit, he will remove it and put a permanent seal already.

Has not passed a pulpitis of a tooth? The treatment that suits you is surgical. It is a removal of the nerve, a complete cleansing of the root canals and their subsequent filling. With this treatment, the pulp can be removed completely or only the coronal part. Its removal usually occurs only in the acute course of the disease. Of course, anesthesia is required.

The cavity of the aching tooth is opened, then the nerve is cut below the place where the dental cavity begins to narrow. After that, the surface of the pulp is sanitized with specially designed products, an ointment is applied with zinc hydroxide and calcium. On top of the ointment must be applied a special gasket and filling material.

This method of treating pulpitis has two schemes of execution:

- Devital. With it, the nerve is removed after it is killed;

- vital, when the nerve is removed under local or general anesthesia.

Prevention of pulpitis

The main preventive measures to prevent pulpitis are the control over the condition of your teeth, the timely treatment of caries, the very careful hygiene of the mouth and teeth. At the same time, caries can be treated only using environmentally friendly filling materials.

Regularly visiting the dentist, you can save yourself from tooth loss or from incredibly severe pain. During the preventive examination the doctor finds out the presence of caries and other pathologies at the first stages of their development.

When you start treatment, you prevent the damage to the deep tissues of the tooth.
