Prosthetic hand-made children will soon appear in the Disney theme

From now on, disabled children can feel like Marvel superheroes from the popular Disney bands.

New line for children

Open Bionics is already working on creating 3D prostheses for patients and recently announced a new line designed specifically for children. Designers created their masterpieces inspired by the most famous films: Iron Man, Cold Heart, and Star Wars.

Over the past few years, unlikely to find more grandiose blockbusters, loved by children. As you can see, the creators did not bypass their attention and girls, including in their line the heroine of the cartoon "Cold Heart" Elsa. Well, the hand of the Iron Man comes complete with a vibration mount simulating the launch of a rocket.

"This is superfluous," you will say. However, the new prostheses are fully functional as an ordinary hand, besides they will bring much more joy to children, because they need it so much.

Dream at the lowest price

A new prosthesis is planned to be launched in the market starting from 2016, and such a hand will cost $ 500. This became possible after Open Bionics took advantage of the terms of the special partnership program for the implementation of start-up projects, and joined forces with Disney.

Thus, the developers and manufacturers jointly managed to significantly reduce the price of prosthetics. For comparison, conventional prostheses range from $ 3,000 to $ 30,000. 3D printing is much cheaper than mechanical analogues. In addition, after the release of the line from the company "Disney", non-multiplication printed prosthetics will drop significantly in price.
