Prayer is the vehicle to the spiritual world. Tips for the praying

A person's life consists of sad and joyful events. In moments of the highest happiness, or, conversely, in moments of greatest sadness, the Orthodox turn to God. In order for the Lord to hear a person, there are prayers. This is the oldest, since biblical times, way of conveying their thoughts, requests, thanks to the Creator.

What is prayer?

What does this word mean? In the Great Soviet Encyclopedia it is given the following definition: "The conversion of the believer to God. The canonized text of the message. " Orthodox Christians treat prayer more highly and consider it not just a way of conveying their thoughts and desires.

Believers believe that prayer is the connecting thread of the spiritual world. They connect the earthly and spiritual world. We can say that prayer is like the air. If our thoughts and actions during it are pure, then the spiritual "air" will become clear and transparent. On the whole Earth there will be grace. If in the performance of a prayer a person will be overcome by gloomy and evil thoughts, then the spiritual "air" around will become gloomy and dark. And this is already a direct guide to the world of filth and vice.

That the human soul is not in sin, and there is prayer. This is a kind of protective shield from the forces of evil. That's why it is so important for each of us.

Prayer. What does this mean?

What is the Christian meaning of the word prayer? In the Holy Scripture, his definition is quite wide: "The conversation of the soul with God, as the Father and the Creator, the connection with Him." Proceeding from this definition, it can be said that prayer is any thought, treatment, deed, connected with the Lord.

Therefore, whatever action the Orthodox Christian committed, he does it with prayer. So, he does it in front of our Lord. That the soul after the completion of earthly life does not find itself in the abyss of infernal darkness, it is necessary to create all earthly deeds for the good of life on earth, with love to our Lord and to all life. In this case, one can hope for spiritual grace.

How to pray properly

Many Christians, especially those who came to the Lord very recently, are concerned about the correctness of prayer. Often one can observe a situation in which Orthodox people feel a sense of embarrassment when praying because they do not know how to properly approach God.

To understand this, it is worth remembering the meaning of the word prayer. This is an appeal to our Heavenly Creator, a way of connecting the earthly and spiritual world. Therefore, there are no specific rules that should be strictly observed. Those who doubt the correctness of the actions during prayer can only be given one piece of advice: do and say only as the human soul asks for God. Only in this case, with complete sincerity and repentance in their actions, one can speak of true divine prayer. Such an appeal will immediately be heard by the Lord, because it will go from the heart.

No wonder they say that children's prayer is the most sincere and pure. The soul of the child is incapable of lying and thinking badly. Therefore, the children's prayer in its sincerity and purity can be compared with the angelic.

Every Christian, asking the question "how to pray properly," should take the example of children's prayer. If he can cleanse his soul from sinful and evil thoughts, turning to the Lord will help his soul to rise and enter the higher heavenly world of justice and kindness.

To help the prayers

In Orthodoxy, there are certain recommendations for the performance of prayers. When you address the Creator, especially when you are in the temple, you can follow them.

  1. It is desirable to begin and end the earthly day by performing a prayer.
  2. When praying, it is recommended to overshadow yourself with the sign of the cross and bow.
  3. While in the temple, during the prayer you can put a lit candle to the saints.
  4. Turning to the Lord, it is necessary to ask for the salvation of the soul for all Orthodox Christians.
  5. Before committing a meal or an important matter, it is recommended that you also turn to the heavenly Creator.

Prayer is the conversion of the human soul to God. In prayer, it is purified. Man is filled with joy and grace. This is the best way to get into the world of justice and bliss. The more often a person will do a prayer, the purer will be his soul. So it will be much closer to God.
