Pigmented spots in pregnancy: the main causes

Many young mothers complain of pigment spots during pregnancy, which have the property to appear anywhere, on any part of the body: face, neck, shoulders and even on the labia. Pigmentation on the face has a specific character, manifested in the form of spots of light-coffee color in the nasolabial triangle and mouth. As a rule, they disappear within 4-5 months after the birth of the child.

Let's try to understand what pigmentation spots are in pregnancy and why they appear. The thing is that the skin color of each person depends on a substance called "melanin". During pregnancy, the body of women, or rather their adrenal glands, begins to actively release a large number of hormones of progesterone and estrogen. Creating interference in various organs of the body, they also interfere with the functioning of melanin. As a result, uneven distribution of color across the skin results, which is why pigment spots are formed during pregnancy. But this is one of the reasons. Another may be a lack of vitamins: folic acid, as well as vitamins B, C and some macronutrients: iron, zinc, copper and other elements. Therefore, during pregnancy, you need to eat rationally and diversely and, preferably, take vitamin-mineral supplements.

In addition to pigment spots on the face and various parts of the body, various hormonal pigmentations appear in pregnant women: a dark brown band appears on the abdomen, the halos of the nipples and genitals darken. These manifestations are characteristic of most future mothers and disappear within a couple of months after childbirth. The period when the pigmentation spots occur most often during pregnancy occurs during the period from March to September. This is due to increased activity of the sun, so it is desirable at this time to use sunscreen. As a rule, in winter the pigment spots are pale and less noticeable.

At different pregnant women they are shown on different terms of pregnancy, and at some and at all them does not happen. However, those who still have it, do not worry: the only problem that is associated with their appearance, is only aesthetic. For the mother and child organism, pigmentation spots during pregnancy do not present any danger, and, according to doctors, it is better not to struggle with them not to harm your body and the fetus.

If you still do not want to go with a "tarnished" reputation, you can use masking cosmetics, but do not resort to chemical drugs: this can adversely affect the health of your future baby. It is best to use the good old folk medicine. These can be masks and compresses from various vegetable juices or gruel from lemon, cucumber, berries, cabbage, etc.

However, the future mother may not only have yellow-brown, but also red pigment spots. In that case, you may have experienced allergies. If you have not had it before, during pregnancy, in connection with hormonal failures, allergic manifestations, in particular, rash of red spots on the skin , may appear . Therefore, during this period, the use of allergen products is undesirable, since even one orange or a cube of chocolate can cause a reaction of the organism.

Note! If you have spots on the face and body that bring discomfort, itches, then in this case, you need to immediately consult a doctor for advice. Pigmented spots during pregnancy are painless and do not bring any unpleasant sensations!
