Perm Medical Academy: faculties, passing grade

In 1916, Perm University opened the first university in the Urals, which initiated medical education in this region, because one faculty of the university was physico-mathematical with a department of medicine, from which the medical academy gradually grew. Perm land at that time was in great need of such specialists. Medical schools were absent. That is why forty-three percent of the entrants in the year of opening were taken to the medical department. The following year, a separate medical faculty was organized, and in 1931 - the Perm Medical Institute.

Start

At first, students were trained in general faculty departments at the university, and when the medical institute was formed, the departments of surgery, therapy, and otolaryngology were opened. The recruitment of students has already been carried out at seven faculties: sanitary and hygienic, therapeutic and preventive, protection of infancy and maternity, workforce training, paramedics, higher medical specialists and chemico-pharmaceutical. In the process of work, the requirements changed, so some faculties were replaced by new ones, others were reorganized.

All medical universities in the country have gone through numerous transformations. The time was difficult, but interesting. Many scientists worked in Perm only temporarily, so the issue of training local personnel, which quickly and successfully resolved, came to the fore. Perm State Medical Academy has always been famous for scientists of the highest qualification, who also had a great experience in both educational and clinical research work in science. Here the best traditions of Soviet medicine were developed and maintained.

Development

In the thirties, the institute opened a sector of scientific research, where immediately began to develop more than one hundred and fifty topics. The active work was conducted by the students themselves: separate departments were organized at the departments, reports were read. In 1937, the Scientific Society of Students (SSS) was also opened to develop separate topics and to help teachers conduct scientific and research work.

Such a student's independence later was also proud of the medical academy. The Perm region has finally begun to receive highly qualified personnel prepared by the institute. By the fortieth year the Perm Medical Institute had become an important center of scientific research and high-quality medical education capable of solving problems at the country level.

Military years

Since the summer of 1941, the institute had to carry on its shoulders a very important and tremendous load on the importance. In addition to training doctors for the front, it was necessary to organize the evacuation of hospitals, provide qualified assistance to the wounded and the population. And this is in the context of the fact that most of the teachers, staff and students voluntarily went to the front.

Despite very difficult conditions, the medical faculty continued to train military doctors: in 1941, they graduated seven hundred and thirty, and just over the war years - more than a half thousand. Many teachers and students took the war forever, their memory was always honored by the medical academy.

Perm medicine continued to live thanks to the efforts and dedication of the institute staff.

Flowering

The country rose from the ruins, rebuilt, people gradually became accustomed to a peaceful life. As the state developed, so did the requirements for medical specialists. There were opportunities to raise the level of training of students of medical universities. At the institute, the scientific and practical schools - therapeutic, surgical, obstetrics, pediatrics - began to form in the main areas. In the sixties and seventies, the university really blossomed: new buildings and dormitories were built, medical and preventive institutions, which became the basis for student practice. Throughout the country, healthcare has developed at a tremendous pace.

In the institute, the relay of achievements of which the Perm State Medical Academy took, excellent specialists with high degrees and titles were raised. At the same time, TsNIL (Central Scientific Research Laboratory) was organized, equipped with excellent equipment - the most modern at that time. Due to this, complex studies began, in which various departments of the Institute participated, and also other universities and research institutes were involved.

Experience accumulation

Eleven directions were defined in the institute's scientific environment. All the creative potential of the staff was directed to the implementation of the sectoral programs both of the Union and republican ones, and, of course, the urgent problems of the city of Perm and the region were solved. The scientists of the Institute began to travel to international forums, expanding their contacts with colleagues abroad. The middle of the seventies is interesting because a patent-licensing group has appeared in the institute, and before the planning of each scientific research a mandatory information search was conducted.

So began a landmark work - rationalization and inventive. Of course, always, at each stage of development, there were various problems and difficulties, particularities and requirements, but there was no generation of Permian medical scientists who did not overcome the circumstances. All the staff of the Institute were united in their dedication to their work. Even under the most difficult conditions, the medical academy selflessly worked with high responsibility. Permian land is not without reason proud of this higher educational institution.

Rename

Many names, sounded for the first time in the auditoriums of the institute, were the pride and honor of the national medicine. Traditions of the old times, when the university was able to stand at the most difficult times for the country, are sacredly honored by scientists who were brought up by the Perm State Medical Academy.

From the accumulated experience, the main thing passes into each new generation, as it used to be at all times. Here, the color of Russian medicine is still being cultivated. In 1994, instead of Perm Medical Institute, the university received another proud name - higher rank - the Perm Medical Academy named after Wagner.

Today's Day

Today, scientists at the university are actively working on scientific problems that are relevant for the health care of both Perm and the region, and the entire Russian Federation - in pediatrics, cardiology, dentistry, neurology, epidemiology and all other areas. Since 2014, the university is in a different status, now it is the Perm State Medical University named after academician EA Wagner. It is universally recognized as a major scientific center, one of the leading medical universities in the country.

569 high-qualified teachers are trained here, among them 143 doctors of medical sciences and 354 candidates, laureates of the State Prize, honored doctors and scientists, many are awarded prizes by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, regional and regional, and there are state scientific fellows. Russia has not lost its outstanding scientists and young talents. Almost ninety percent of university professors have a degree! This is one of the best indicators among the universities of the country.

Material base

Why does the university annually become the leader in patenting inventions and utility models among the universities of the region? Why is this educational institution implementing national health projects in the education of the Perm region? Because it allows him to do modern technical equipment. The University lumps over 3,400 people at a time. Twenty-two specialties produce 365 clinical interns, forty-264 clinical interns, and 94 graduate students in twenty specialties. Every year, two thousand doctors here improve their skills, and for more than eighty specialties.

Passing score
