Papillomas in women - skin tumors caused by the virus

Papilloma is a small process on the skin, which hangs on the stem or has a broad base. Most often, papillomas in women are located in the most vulnerable and tender places, for example, on the neck and on the mucous membrane of the genitals (as, indeed, in men). Manifestations of the presence of human papillomavirus (HPV) in the body in each case are individual, in some cases there are single neoplasms, and in others - the entire surface of the skin is covered with a network of small processes.

Methods of transmission of the virus

In most cases, the virus of the papilloma is transmitted sexually, and the incubation period lasts approximately 2-3 months. Of course, there are cases of infection and with household contact, for example, while visiting the public pool, but this is possible only with very weakened immunity. Lack of proper immunity in any case is one of the risk factors, as well as the presence of other diseases transmitted during sexual intercourse. In addition, papillomas in women occur with the early onset of sexual activity, frequent changes in sexual partners, the absence of barrier means of contraception in sexual acts. With oral contact, infection is less common than with other types of sex, however, completely exclude the possibility of getting the virus into the body can not. Most often, the human papillomavirus during pregnancy is transmitted from the infected mother to the baby during passage through the birth canal, however, this can also occur with breastfeeding.

Diagnostics

According to statistics, the human body is extremely susceptible to this type of virus, so women can develop papillomas regardless of their lifestyle and social status. Even the avoidance of risk factors, in fact, is not a guarantee, therefore, every woman must pass gynecological examinations on time, because it is impossible to detect new growths on the mucous membranes of the genital organs.

As a rule, the causes of papillomas are mainly related to the patient's lifestyle. The incubation period of this disease usually does not exceed 3 months, but sometimes it can last up to 9 months, depending on the state of the human body. Patients do not experience any discomfort from the papillomas at the initial stages of the disease, but in due course there are complaints of pain when urinating and in the genitals, which is typical for most sexually transmitted diseases. When the neoplasms under the clothes are placed, their trauma and development of bleeding, infection and, most unpleasantly, traumatization with papolomas can lead to skin cancer or cervical cancer.

Only a doctor can diagnose after an appropriate examination. For detection of the papilloma virus in women and its manifestations, it is necessary to perform cytological and histological examination, colposcopy, some molecular genetic analyzes and determine the presence of antibodies.

Treatment

Most women, discovering incomprehensible neoplasms, try to get rid of them on their own, but this can not be done categorically. Any papilloma in women can become a source of additional infection, which will only exacerbate the course of the disease.

Effective treatment of papilloma is possible only during periods of exacerbation. For this, mechanical removal of neoplasms, administration of protivovirus preparations and immunomodulating agents is used. Methods of mechanical removal include surgical or chemical moxibustion, cryosurgery, high-frequency surgery and diathermocoagulation. A specific method is chosen by the attending physician depending on the nature and the place of the lesion, the general state of health of the patient, the presence of her venereal diseases.
