Overview of the model "Honda Airwave"

After the triumphant success of the Fit model, Japanese engineers from Honda decided not to stop there. And create a new car on its base. As a result, about a decade ago, the first copy of Honda Airwave came off the assembly line. Reviews of the owners of the new car showed that the developers managed to improve, it would seem, the ideal. Designers left virtually untouched all their key engineering developments and solutions that were used for the previous version, but they worked hard on the saloon. In fact, the car has become nothing more than a well-known car enthusiasts Honda Fit in a completely new guise.

Air Cabin

The car Honda Airwave on the background of other cars stands out, above all, his body. Its feature is the glass windows, which are huge area. Thanks to this, passengers sitting inside have the impression of an incredible spaciousness of the passenger compartment in comparison with its external dimensions. It should be noted that this type of body is called - Air Cabin, which is literally translated from English as an "air cabin".

External Settings

Compared with the previous version, engineers shifted the Honda Airwave wheelbase by a hundred millimeters. This decision made the novelty more spacious and comfortable. Together with this, the total length of the machine, which is equal to 4360 millimeters, also increased. As for the height and width of the car, their values are 1505 and 1695 millimeters, respectively. The car boasts a spacious luggage compartment. It should be noted that the modification with a glass roof is slightly smaller. The ground clearance is 160 millimeters.

Salon

Japanese engineers did not begin to save on the interior design of Honda Airwave. Characteristics of the salon are a vivid confirmation of this. In particular, for its upholstery manufacturers used soft, pleasant to the touch materials. Both the driver and the passengers of the car feel comfortable and cozy. Behind without problems, there are three people who do not interfere with each other. The machine has an excellent noise isolation, thanks to which no extraneous sounds can be heard inside. This indicator becomes especially important when traveling for long distances. One can not but note the fact that many experts in this field call the main advantage of this model, which provided a large number of sales, namely, a well-designed interior.

Vehicle Specification

Manufacturers installed under the hood of the Honda Airwave engine, which had previously been well tested on the above-mentioned modification of Fit. This unit was named L15A. The motor consists of four cylinders. Its total volume is 1.5 liters, and the maximum developed power equals 110 horsepower. One of the big pluses of the engine, beyond any doubt, is its economy. Such characteristics allow the installation to cope with the tasks posed quite easily. As for the transmission, then for the model only "automatic" of variator type, borrowed from the same Fit model, is provided.

Management and Riding

In order to give the opportunity to the driver to receive as much as possible pleasant emotions from the control of the machine, the designers equipped the car with paddle shifters that are intended for gear changes. The next feature is that the Honda Airwave was available in two versions - front or all-wheel drive. In this case, the connection of the rear wheels occurred by using a specially designed for this system, known as DPS. Manageability is one of the most important parameters that Japanese engineers pay attention to when designing their cars. This can explain the fact that the front of the car is slightly narrowed. This not only made it more beautiful, but also greatly increased visibility. The front wheels use the McPherson suspension, and on the rear - a beam.

Cost

The last copy of the model came off the assembly line in 2011. After that, it was replaced by Honda Fit Shuttle, which became a more standardized car. In this regard, to buy a car for this is now possible only in the secondary market. As practice shows, the average cost of Honda Airwave here is equal to the sum of 350 thousand rubles. In this case, we are talking about the acquisition of a 2005 car with a mileage of about one hundred thousand kilometers. It includes air conditioning and a full electropackage. At the same time, attention should be paid to the fact that this is only an indicative price, as it is influenced by a number of other factors, including not only the time of release and equipment, but even the region where the implementation takes place. The cost of the 2010 model model will be approximately 450 thousand rubles. For Airwave with the minimum mileage and the maximum complete set, issued in 2011, the potential buyer will have to shell out about 550 thousand rubles.
