A lot of blood of innocent people was spilled during the Second World War. In the distant 1939 in Prague a demonstration was organized on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Czechoslovak state. The bulk of people consisted of students from the best universities in the country. Young brave guys and girls took to the streets of the city with banners and posters, they were not afraid that the country was occupied by the Germans. Enemy troops began to disperse the demonstrators by force - one of the students was shot on the spot. The commotion began, and many were arrested. Within a few days, boys, girls, teachers were arrested. Some were taken to be shot, and some were sent to a concentration camp.

World peace

Hitler ordered the immediate closure of all educational institutions in the country, although there was no one to attend classes ... The universities resumed their work only after the war was over.

In 1942 the International Student Congress in London decided that November 17 will be a day of memory for Czech students. The holiday is not at all fun, it is celebrated in every locality in the world in memory of the victims of fascism. Young people of all nationalities and faiths protest against wars and conflicts. November 17 - International Students Day is the date when people remember innocent young and talented people who died innocent.

In our memory

Almost every higher educational institution in the country hosts a student holiday. Concerts, interesting events, master classes and, of course, the solemn laying of flowers to memorials.
