Northern Avenue of St. Petersburg

By right, St. Petersburg is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The cultural capital of our vast homeland demonstrates the Russian spirit and aesthetics of the times of Peter the Great. Surprisingly, the city, built on the swamps for a few years, has preserved its original appearance. Channels and avenues, squares and narrow streets, palaces and cathedrals - all this best reflects the atmosphere of the XVIII-XIX centuries. Plunging into it, it seems that time seems to have stopped.

The Northern Avenue is one of the main thoroughfares of the city that passes through the territories of the Vyborg and Kalininsky districts. Its length is about 7 kilometers. The Northern Avenue was formed in 1975 when the City Lane was merged, the road to Ozerki and the New Route. The area, which was formed at the intersection of two streets, became known as the North. Connecting the streets of Engels and Rustavelli Avenue opens a view of the Murinsky Park and the bridge that was thrown across the eponymous creek.

The Northern Avenue is part of one of the largest areas of the cultural capital - Vyborg. Its area is almost 12 thousand hectares. The population of the district is equal to the number of a small provincial town. According to one of the last censuses of the population, about 266 thousand people live here. This territorial-administrative unit was founded in 1718. There are a lot of attractions, about 40 squares and 16 boulevards, Shuvalovsky Park, 7 lakes and several ponds. Throughout the area there are five rivers, but vacationers from St. Petersburg and other cities come to the famous Suzdal Lake.

The large and actively developing Vyborg district, of which the Northern Avenue is an integral part, is famous not only for its landscapes, but for municipal institutions. Quite remote from the center, but not on the outskirts of the city, it attracts the attention of the citizens of St. Petersburg as an area where you can comfortably live with your family. All municipal institutions (hospitals, polyclinics, schools) work at the level appropriate for a large city. The administration takes care of its residents and responds to their requests and comments.

The northern areas of St. Petersburg are sleeping and not famous for their cultural sights. If you are a tourist, then be sure, you do not need to go to the north of the city without special need. Here you will not find architectural ensembles, you will not see strange temples and churches. All the main cultural monuments you will find in the Admiralteysky and Central districts, which are the entire historical component of the most beautiful northern capital. Panel gray high-rise buildings, kindergartens and schools, food stores - all this is in your city. The Northern avenue of St. Petersburg, as part of the territory on which not the richest St. Petersburgers live, connects historical centers and districts that were landscaped in the Soviet era. It will please you with beautiful buildings, will give pleasure to the indescribable atmosphere of Northern Palmyra.
