Musa Manarov, cosmonaut from Dagestan: biography

The space for most people on the planet is unattainable. Some people dream of visiting there, while others are afraid to even imagine themselves in the open space for a second. But whatever it is, outside the atmosphere, brave daredevils have already visited for a long time, among which the hero of today's article is Manarov Musa. He flew twice to the orbital station "Mir" and knows firsthand about the fascinating beauty of the cosmic universe. But the speech in the material will mostly refer to the life of the cosmonaut, his father, his childhood, his family. However, a separate paragraph will still be devoted to the memories of the hero of the article on flights to space.

Manarov Musa: biography and an interesting hobby

Almost all the publications, publishing information about the cosmonaut and Hero of the Soviet Union Manarov, say that he was born in the Azerbaijani city of Baku. Musa Hiramanovich himself does not deny this fact, but notes that he did not manage to live in this amazing place. The family almost immediately after his birth changed the country of residence.

However, the journeys occurred quite often, because Manarov's father was a military man. By the way, the future cosmonaut was born on March 22, 1951. Recalling his father, Musa Hiramanovich notes that he went through the Great Patriotic War, and after finishing the profile academy and having received his education, he devoted his entire life to military affairs. He was an artilleryman.

Childhood

Musa Khuramanovich Manarov spent his childhood in Ukraine. There he went to school, and at the age of 12 discovered a certain talent: he soldered boards of black and white TVs and various transistors, popular at that time, returning broken technology to life. Finished school future cosmonaut already in the city of Alatyr, that in the Republic of Chuvashia. After graduation, the family moved to Moscow, and for so many years Musa Manarov has not left the capital. Speaking of himself, he notes that he became practically a native Muscovite: the city made his character tougher and forced to develop strength and will to win.

The astronaut hardly knows the native language, because the family was spoken in Russian, and he rarely visits relatives who stayed in Azerbaijan. However, in each interview, Manarov says that he considers Baku to be the best city on earth. Still it is necessary to tell: in spite of the fact that Manarov is the father of the Daghestanian, he certainly respects the traditions of this people, but he does not observe them.

A family

Cosmonaut Musa Manarov from Dagestan (such a mention can often be found in the press) got married, having graduated from the Aviation Institute at the Faculty of Radio Electronics of Aircraft, which he graduated in 1974. By the way, there was no question of choosing a profession. The child's hobby turned into a hobby, without the equipment and microcircuits Musa Hiramanovich Manarov did not represent the further development of the situation.

The girl from Baku, the doctor by training became the chosen cosmonaut. The couple married two children: a son and a daughter. An interesting fact from the life of Musa Hiramanovich: he, his wife and daughter were born in a maternity hospital in Baku. Son Manarova continued his father's business, true, to the cosmos it has nothing to do. He is an engineer, and his daughter followed in the footsteps of his mother, becoming a doctor. Currently, the Manarovs live in the capital.

Space

The article already mentioned that Musa Manarov made two space flights, but now I would like to give more attention to this stage of the biography of the hero. In 1978, Manarov was taken into the cosmonaut detachment, where he subsequently prepared for his first flight into the open unknown space. But, Musa Hiramanovich got there not by chance. For four years (from 1974 to 1978) he worked as an engineer for the NPO Energia, where he prepared spacecraft and their operators for flights.

Recalling that time, Musa Manarov said that he was invited to try to undergo a medical examination and try to claim a place in the space crew. He did not particularly believe in the success of this operation, but he agreed to try. And then, when the first examination was successful, it was necessary to go to the next one, and did not want to stop half way.

First flight

Passing all the stages of preparation for the flight, Musa Manarov set off on his first journey to the unknown and completely unexplored on the Soyuz TM-4. This significant event happened on December 21, 1987. The team spent exactly one year in space. Manarov was on the ship as a flight engineer. It is worth noting that many considered his partner unfortunate person, because he was burning in a rocket. To this the hero of today's article says that he thought differently: "If a person burned in a rocket and escaped, it means he's a lucky one."

In general, the year that Soyuz TM-4 held in space was a leap year. For many superstitious people this is a bad omen. However, the astronaut remembers that the entire flight was quiet, without excesses and unforeseen situations.

Impressions of what they saw in space

Musa Manarov in the first flight to the orbital station "Mir" went out into open space. He notes that he always had problems with putting on a spacesuit, but in a state of weightlessness, they were even more exacerbated. Musa Hiramanovich badly injured his hand when trying to put on a space attire. In general, he recalls that the first seconds of being in a spacesuit always seemed to him excruciating. He had a feeling similar to claustrophobia, but then it disappeared.

The cosmonaut in one of the interviews spoke about the sensations that he experienced when going out into outer space. It was an indescribable pride for his country and for himself. A huge "Mir" station appeared before its eyes. The drops of condensate, which were inside the device when opening the wings, instantly broke away from the walls and, turning into ice cubes, rushed into the open universe. After them, Manarov himself went out into space. It was such a memory left in the memory of Musa Hiramanovich. Upon returning to Earth, the cosmonaut received the Order of Lenin, the Gold Star medal and the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. In the second flight, Manarov spent slightly more than 34 hours in open space, and the flight itself lasted 175 days.

On the 60th anniversary of cosmonaut Musa Manarov he was asked if he would like to repeat his fate concerning flights to the open Universe? The answer was: "I doubt if I would again decide on this."
