Monsoon - a phenomenon that affects the climate of entire continents

For a long time people have been watching nature. Often seafarers noticed steady winds blowing towards the continents. Monsoon - this is the same wind that changes its direction twice a year. In summer it is directed from the ocean to the mainland. He brings heavy rains and abundant moisture. This is truly a life-giving force that does not allow the whole variety of land to die.

By the onset of winter, the summer monsoon is gradually changing its direction, rearranging itself in the opposite direction. Now, from the land, streams of air rush to the sea. This climate is often characterized as monsoon. It can be observed in the Southern Hemisphere of the planet, in the Far East and in the coastal regions, in South Asia, in Australia, in equatorial Africa, in Brazil and in the Middle East. The winter period in these areas is characterized by scanty precipitation, drought and extremely rare rains. The most favorable periods for living in areas with a monsoon climate are spring and autumn. Spring monsoon - a movement of air, which in the off-season gives a comfortable temperature and humidity. This period is extremely picturesque. One has only to look at the monsoon (pictures below) in the Persian Gulf to experience the beauty of the natural phenomenon.

The reason for the monsoon is the formation of high and low pressure zones. If we take into account that in the equatorial regions there are zones of low pressure, and in subequatorial regions - elevated, then the monsoon is a constant displacement of cyclones. In addition, the formation of monsoon wind affects the temperature difference in summer and winter, as, for example, in India. In summer, the hot air moves deeper into the mainland. In winter, stronger winds blow from the continent towards the ocean.

But not always a monsoon is a long-awaited joy. It is known that strong winds bring disasters to entire countries. Often, the population of the continents suffers from floods and destroying downpours. Residents of Vietnam, Korea, Thailand are often hostage to the raging elements in the summer. And in winter a severe drought can turn into fires, outbreaks of epidemics. First of all, suffer from these "delights" of the country of Africa. The local population is waiting for the summer monsoon season, because life on this continent depends entirely on them. In fact, whole rivers dry up in winter, leaving behind dried up beds. With the advent of the rainy season, they are filled, and life returns to these places.

This phenomenon is practically not observed in European countries. In a vast territory of the land, cyclones and anticyclones are replacing each other, not staying long in one place. Monsoon is typical for coastal areas and is completely untypical for Europe. But in the Far East you can see their influence on the climate. From June to September, there is a maximum of precipitation. Hence it turns out that in the summer rainy, but warm weather, and in winter it is quite dry, windy and very cold. And in the driest winter month of precipitation is 5 times less than in the rainiest summer. This disparity is characteristic of the monsoon climate.
