Moldova and its vineyards

Although the country lies not far from the Black Sea, it does not have access to the sea. The Second World War caused terrible destruction to the country, most of the cities were in ruins. Almost all the buildings that were restored after the war are built in the style of Stalinism.

Modern hotels in Chisinau and other cities of the country offer decent service and accommodation.

The country is beautiful and picturesque. The vineyards of Moldova are considered one of the best on the European continent.

Kishinev

The capital of the country is Chisinau, or "White City". So it is called because for the construction of houses of past times, white limestone was used. In Chisinau, freely stretched on 7 hills, a lot of greenery. In the capital, there are many military memorials, and from the monuments it is worth mentioning M. Eminescu and Pushkin who lived in the city during the exile. All city parks have their own layout, they are beautiful and picturesque.

The lake, located in the city, is of artificial origin. Walking along its banks, you can go to the Open Green Theater and visit the Exhibition of Achievements. In the area of the old city there are three ancient churches - Blagoveshchenskaya, Ryshkanovskaya, and also Mazarakievskaya.

Vineyards

The climate of the country, warm and dry, contributes to the development of viticulture and fruit growing on an industrial scale. Moldova is both vineyards and winemakers. After driving 15 km north from the capital, you will enter Cricov, where all the "wine tours" begin. It is in this city is the world's largest wine cellar. This is a real city under the earth, and the labyrinths of its streets stretch more than sixty kilometers. Each street has a name of some sort of wine, so choose what you like best - ul. Cabernet or Isabella Boulevard.

After leaving Cricova fifteen kilometers to the east, you will enter the town of Koshusna. In addition to wines, both white and red, they still produce port wine and traditional vodka. Sparkling white wines are produced on Straseni vineyard, which lies to the north-west of the capital at a distance of 30 kilometers. Of course, tasting wine in Moldova is not exactly what to taste wine in the ancient castles of France. But the wines produced in this country are also worthy of your attention, and their bouquet and flavor are distinguished by a peculiar taste.

After visiting the vineyard, go to the monastery built in the 14th century, which managed to survive in the Soviet era. It is just 7 km southwest of Straseni. The monastery consists of three churches, built in different epochs.
