Virtually everyone from childhood knows the taste of sweet wafers that came to us from Germany. For baking wafers, a certain form called a waffle iron is required. The composition of wafers includes about ten ingredients, including dairy products, baking powder and flavoring. Wafers can be cooked both according to the classic recipe, and by many others - in any case it will be very tasty! So, for the preparation of wafers according to the classic recipe you will need flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, egg, milk and margarine. Flour is mixed with salt, sugar and baking powder and whipped whites. Whipped yolks are mixed with milk and margarine. Further, all the ingredients are combined to obtain a homogeneous mass, which is poured into the pan by a thin stream. Ready-made waffles can be served with jam or with grated cheese or greens.

To date, there are many recipes for preparing a dough for waffles. Among them, you can identify and Belgian waffles (recipe without eggs), and fresh, crunchy, salty and many more options. However, the overall technology of their production is almost the same and involves the preparation of raw materials, the preparation of dough and filling, baking wafers, the formation and packaging of the finished product.

Baking wafers, the recipe of which can be absolutely anything, you must follow a few simple rules. So, the dough should be a liquid consistency, so that it can quickly spread over the baking sheet (to obtain thin sheets). This product is baked in the oven or in special appliances - waffle irons until the leaf gets a brownish hue. Ready products are not recommended to be stacked, otherwise they will become soft. While the waffles are still hot, they can be cut with scissors, giving any shape, and also roll into tubes, which are then filled with a variety of fillings, such as fruit jam or ice cream. In a glass of flour add salt, soda and half a cup of water. All these ingredients must be beaten for twenty minutes, then add half a cup of water and yolk and continue to whisk until smooth. Prepared in this way, the dough is baked in an oven or waffle iron.

Tea wafers (recipe without eggs)

In four glasses of tea, dissolve a spoonful of honey, add five spoons of jam and sixty grams of butter (vegetable). Two cups of flour is poured over this mixture and mixed, and a homogeneous mass of medium consistency should be formed. The resulting dough is baked in the waffle iron for about three minutes.

It is interesting to know that in some countries there are traditions associated with baking wafers. So, in Sweden wafers, a recipe of which every resident of the country knows, is served with jam and cream, and on March 25th there is celebrated the day of waffles. On this day it is customary to give waffle makers.

To date, wafers have not lost their popularity, they can be found in almost all stores. The most demanded customers use so-called wafer cakes, because they have a long shelf life and are often presented as a gift, for example, when they go on a visit. There is also a wide range of waffles. They are produced with different fillings, so everyone can choose a delicacy to taste.
