Minerals of the Krasnoyarsk Territory: description

People who are not close to the Krasnoyarsk Territory, this area is associated primarily with the vast Siberian expanses, huge rivers and, of course, the Tunguska meteorite. The main river of this territory is the Yenisei, which serves as the natural boundary dividing Siberia into the Western and Eastern regions. Proceeding from this, we can say that the Krasnoyarsk Territory is Central Siberia.

Huge wealth of vast territory

We can summarize the Krasnoyarsk Territory so briefly: mining of minerals is the main factor in the city. The territory of the region is huge, it is almost fourteen percent of Russia's area, which is much larger than most of the world's states. But this area is almost not populated. The inhabited is the southern part of the edge and point - the place of extraction of minerals. But with the reserves of the Earth's interior in the Krasnoyarsk Territory everything is in order. More than ten thousand deposits and mineral occurrences of various minerals have been discovered here. The minerals of the Krasnoyarsk Territory are rich in metals: of the seventy known metals, deposits of sixty-three have been found. And deposits of nickel and platinoids make up almost ninety-five percent of all-Russian reserves. Nickel-containing polymetallic ores are the most famous minerals in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Photos of them are presented in the article.

More than twenty percent of Russia's gold-bearing ores are located within the province. In addition, there are significant deposits of fairly rare cobalt and nepheline ores. Magnesites, Iceland spar, thin quartzite sands, refractory clays and graphite have also been found here. Large coal reserves are developed mainly in two coal basins - Kansk-Achinsk and Tunguska.

The region is rich in oil and gas deposits. Altogether, twenty-five fields are open, the largest of them is Vankor, and the Yurubchensky block. Lead deposits of one of the largest deposits of the world - Gorevsky - account for more than forty percent of all-Russian reserves. Apatit raw materials are rich in Meimecha-Kotui apatite province, where more than twenty percent of all apatites in the country are concentrated. Promising is the largest in Russia Chuktukonskoe rare-earth metals deposit. In the near future, the development of deposits of manganese, aluminum and uranium ore will begin .

Coal resources

According to the availability of the main twenty-three types of mineral resources, the Krasnoyarsk Territory ranks first in Russia. Fossil fuel and energy fossils (coal, oil, gas) are of overwhelming value, followed by deposits of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and, finally, reserves of rare and precious metals. You should consider these resources in more detail.

The geological reserves of the region's coal are seventy percent of the total Russian reserves. The bulk of more than one hundred coal deposits in the territory of the region falls on the Kansk-Achinsk coal basin. The remaining deposits are included in the composition of the Tunguska, Taimyr and Minusinsk basins. The minerals of the Krasnoyarsk Territory of this species are estimated at seventy five billion tons. Taking into account the current production volumes, resources are considered almost inexhaustible, they will be enough for a millennium. The increased development of the Kansk-Achinsk coals compared to the rest of the regions is explained by the location of this basin alongside the Trans-Siberian Railway.

Hydrocarbons

The minerals of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, rich in hydrocarbons, number more than twenty deposits. Most of them are considered large. The largest hydrocarbon deposits are located in the Vankor Group deposits, which belong to the Turukhansk and Taimyr areas, as well as in the Yurubcheno-Takhomi deposits in the southern part of Evenkia.

The explored oil reserves in the region are almost one and a half billion tons, and gas - almost two trillion cubic meters. Oil at current rates of production will last for twenty years, and gas, as well as coal, will last for a whole millennium.

Metal-bearing minerals

Sixty-six deposits of ferrous and non-ferrous metals have huge reserves. Iron ore reserves are estimated at more than four billion tons. The content of lead and zinc in the bowels of the Krasnoyarsk Territory is estimated at several million tons, while copper-nickel ores are estimated at tens of millions of tons. When answering the question, what minerals are mined in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, I immediately want to mention nickel.

But, apart from him, in the world-famous Norilsk mining district copper, cobalt, and platinum are mined. Rare earth is also a lot. The minerals of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, contained in fifteen polymetallic deposits, amount to tens of thousands of tons. There are cobalt, niobium, selenium, cadmium and other metals. The Yenisei Ridge with the adjacent Siberian Platform, apart from gold, is rich in bauxite and nepheline ore deposits - raw materials for the production of aluminum. In the Gorevskoye polymetallic deposit, a unique content of lead and zinc was found - more than six percent. In addition, other metals are extracted from these same ores, including silver. For example, only stocks of silver in the Krasnoyarsk Territory are estimated at fifteen thousand tons.

There are more than three hundred deposits of precious metals. The main deposits of platinoids are concentrated in the northern regions.

Gold edge

Gold mining is conducted in more than one hundred countries of the world. In terms of its production, Russia is on the fifth place, although by the volume of explored reserves - on the third. The fifth part of the reserves of Russian gold is accounted for by the minerals of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Gold is explored in three hundred deposits. The leading place among them belongs to deposits that are located on the Yenisei Ridge. The unofficial capital of the gold miners of the region is located just in the North Yenisei region.

Another place of gold deposits are deposits of polymetallic ores near Norilsk and in the Taimyr-Severozemelsky districts. Minor deposits of noble metal are found in small northern rivers, but it is economically unprofitable to extract it. And given that all known gold deposits are in development not for the first ten years, the raw material base is narrowing.

Non-metals

The reserves of nonmetallic minerals in the bowels of the Krasnoyarsk Territory are sufficient for hundreds of years of active development. More than 100 deposits of the region produce fluxed limestones, graphite, apatite, refractory and refractory clays, quartz and molding sand. Deposits of graphite are important for the economy of the whole country. Obtain it mainly in the Noginsk and Kureyskoe deposits on the Central Siberian plateau. Popigai ring structure in the northern regions of the region is rich in unique deposits of technical diamonds. These deposits have a very high potential and are under development. The region has explored deposits of jadeite and jade. In addition, chrysolites, quartzites and tourmaline are found here. In the bins of the region there are reserves of amber and datolite, coil and marble onyx.

Mineral water and mineral resources

Minerals in the Krasnoyarsk Territory are also mined. Their reserves, like other minerals, are very significant, but on the background of metal and energy deposits are lost. But here mining of building and facing stone, construction sand and gravel, gypsum and many other building materials is conducted.

There are more than three hundred deposits of these fossils on the territory of the region. Granite and limestone are mined literally near Krasnoyarsk. Against this background, almost unnoticeable is the presence in the Krasnoyarsk Territory of twelve deposits with saturated groundwater. Active operation is carried out in three: Kozhanovsky, Nanzhulsky and Tagarsky.
