Mikrantemum shady: conditions of maintenance and rules of care of a plant

The natural habitat of this plant is the swampy terrain of America (both South and North). Mikrantemum shady looks spectacular, being a part of the aquarium composition, and is actively grown in aquariums of the Dutch type. Go past the composition, the background of which creates this amazing plant, and do not pay attention to it is simply unrealistic.

Brief description of the plant

The rhizome is creeping in the plant. Mikrantemum is characterized by the presence of accessory white roots. From the rhizome grow long, indistinct outgrowths resembling stems, up to 0.5 mm thick.

The apex is strewn with densely sessile leaves opposite each other. Leafy plates thin and tender, light green, closer to light green, color. The shape of the leaf is round, in diameter up to 10 mm.

Features of growth in aquarium conditions

Mikrantemum at aquarium growth reaches a height of up to 20 cm, while the width of the formed bush varies around 15 cm.

Containing the plant in acceptable conditions and providing it with comfort, it is possible to observe the blossoming of the micro-immune system, which is accompanied by the appearance of a mass of tiny flowers, singly located on a small peduncle. An interesting feature that the micrandemum possesses is shady, is that only the above-water part of the plant blooms.

Rules of maintenance and care of a plant

The plant can be grown in containers with different volumes: both large and smaller aquariums. Growing mikrantemum in a small aquarium, watch the level of its growth. So, the plant requires constant pruning and shaping. Having created acceptable conditions for a representative of aquatic vegetation, you will be surprised how fast the micrandemeum shade can grow. The content in the volumetric container will make it easier to control its growth and take care of the plant.

Plant shrubs micrathemum between snags and stones, thereby creating a designer look of the underwater landscape. Effectively look the compositions collected from a micrartemum, ferns and Javanese mosses.

Sometimes the plant does not land to the bottom, but is left in a free float on the water surface of the aquarium. Such thickets adore small fish and fry, because they willingly hide inside algae.

Scientists note that the micrrandemum is shady (photo can be seen in the article) - a stable and fairly hardy plant, able to adapt to any conditions.

Such a plant in the aquarium is not only a decorative decoration, but also a useful and rich in vitamins and minerals additive for the inhabitants, who like the micrantantum.

Optimal conditions for growing a plant

By maintaining such indicators of the environment in which the micrartemum is located, you will be able to achieve the maximum effect in the growth and development of the plant.

The following indicators are considered acceptable for cultivation:

  • Temperature regime - 20-25 о С;
  • Water hardness - dH 5-10 о;
  • Acidity of the medium - pH 5.3-7.8;
  • The illumination is not too bright, with an intensity within 0.7 W / l.

Using artificial lighting, it is better to choose lamps with a specially selected spectrum of luminescent radiation.

When creating ideal conditions for keeping algae, make sure that the duration of a light day (even under artificial lighting) is 12 hours or as close as possible to this figure.

For planting on the bottom of the aquarium you can lay small gravel with the addition of silt. Mikrantemum shady reacts well to mineral top dressing and CO 2 .

Representative of the aquatic fauna is characterized by reproduction with the help of lateral shoots. Cropping the tip of the microanalarm or its lateral shoot, you can drop it in the ground and soon get a new shoot.

As you can see, the plant is not prudent in care, and it is not so difficult to create optimal conditions for keeping the microanhythm in an aquarium. But what beautiful aquarium compositions are obtained when a number of plants used for design include this.
