Often on children's holidays, educators ask parents to bring for their child a mask of some beast - a fox, a hare or, for example, a wolf. In this article we will tell you how to make a monkey mask with your own hands. You will not need a lot of materials, as you can create such a product even from paper for children's creativity.

How to make a monkey mask with your own hands from plain paper

To make the simplest mask, you need simple paper (better to choose a thick one), paints, markers or pencils, a wooden stick from ice cream, scissors and glue.

First, take a sheet of plain paper and draw on it a muzzle of a monkey with large ears. Mark with black felt-tip pen, mouth, eyes and ears. Cut out the muzzle and eye holes. Do not make the distance between the eyes too wide, otherwise the mask of the monkey, made by your own hands, will be great for your child. Then, from the back, glue a wooden stick from the ice cream. Color such a mask can be simple pencils, markers or paints. If you made a mask from too thin paper, then on the other side you can paste a cardboard. So the product will be more durable and will not crumble much.

Mask made of polymer clay

But to make a mask of polymer clay is much more complicated than simple paper. First, please note that plastic is usually very expensive. Secondly, it should be baked. But the monkey mask, made with his own hands made of polymer clay, will be much stronger than paper. It is unlikely to break in the fall, much less it will not. For the manufacture of such a mask, you can take about five hundred grams of clay.

First, take the necessary amount of clay and roll it into a layer about five to six millimeters thick. Then draw a muzzle of a monkey on this layer with a stack or toothpick. Then cut off the unnecessary clay. And already with your fingers, give the necessary relief to the face. Form the eyebrows, nose, mouth and ears of the monkey. If necessary, at this stage, you can muzzle the muzzle with powder or a special powder for clay.

After you dazzle the muzzle, send it to bake. Such a large product should be held in the oven for at least thirty minutes. Do not immediately remove the mask from the oven, otherwise you can break it. After the product has cooled, take out the mask and cover with acrylic lacquer. Glue to it ropes or an elastic band. The mask of the monkey is made with your own hands! It is worth noting that such a product will be quite heavy. Therefore, if you want an easy mask, it is better to make it out of felt or foam rubber.

Monkey felt mask with your own hands. Patterns

The most inexpensive and reasonable option is to make a mask from simple felt. You can use the template-pattern, which you see in the photo below. First cut out the dark brown felt with the head of the monkey's ears. Then from light felt make a muzzle. Do not forget to make slits for the eyes. From the black piece of felt, make the mouth of the monkey. Sew together all the details and attach a rope or elastic band to the mask. To make the mask of the monkey, made with its own hands, was stronger, it is better to take a hard and thick felt. The fringe of the mask can be made of artificial fur. If you want this mask to be even stronger, then paste a cardboard layer on the wrong side.

Mask of a monkey from foam rubber by own hands

It's hardest to make a monkey from foam rubber. But the mask made of this material will be light and very beautiful. First make a thick cardboard or felt silhouette muzzle. You can use the template-pattern in the previous photo. Then, sweep foamboard one or half centimeter thick to the cardboard. Next, take a velvet fabric or fabric for pantyhose. Draw on the porolon with chalk contours of the monkey's muzzle. Form the nose and eyebrows with a thread and needle.

Then, with thread with a needle, finally attach the velvet to the foam rubber. The head of the monkey can be made of dark brown velvet, and the muzzle - from light brown. Be sure to leave slits for the eyes. You can also make cuts for the nostrils. The mouth can be made from a piece of black felt or velvet. We hope that our article was useful to you.
