Mandarin richness: great taste, useful properties, compote of tangerines

Physicians all over the world strongly recommend us to eat as much fruit as possible. Thanks to the vitamins contained in them, the human immune system works more actively, stresses and depressions are bypassed, work efficiency improves. And this is only the smallest of the list of useful properties of fruits.

Shop counters are filled with a variety of fruits, apples, pears, oranges, kiwis, pomelos, pineapples, mandarins and many others are available for free. Fruits can be consumed in ready-made form, or you can use them to cook insanely delicious dishes, whether it's fruit salad, yogurt, cake, jam or, for example, compote.

In this article, we will talk about citrus, which is simply adored by all children. And this is not surprising, because it is this fruit is associated with the most favorite holiday - the New Year. The hero of this article is Mandarin.

The younger brother of an orange, the mandarin is in no way inferior to his older brother. The presence of potassium, magnesium, vitamins C, A, P, K B1, folic acid, and beta-carotinic acid in the mandarin makes it one of the most useful fruits. Medicine highly appreciates the usefulness of mandarins. Judge for yourself: they are able to increase appetite, clear bronchi and lungs from mucus, fight with manifestations of toxicosis in pregnant women, fight fat deposits and so on. And not only soft part of mandarin is useful, but skin itself. The essential oils contained in it, flavonoids, organic acids contribute to the improvement of the stomach. In addition, mandarin can be safely used for cosmetic purposes.

For us, Mandarin has long been no longer something supernatural, almost in any store you can buy this wonderful fruit. And if he is not only very tasty, but also very useful, it's a sin not to take advantage of his virtues.

I must say that our women have long used tangerines to create real culinary masterpieces. They perfectly combine mandarins with vegetables, with meat, fish - and, the right word, it's insanely delicious! What only do not make of tangerines: jam, jelly, broth, fruit salad, candy candied. But, perhaps, one of the most delicious dishes based on mandarins is mandarin compote.

Preparing such a compote quickly enough and does not require special culinary skills. To prepare a compote of tangerines, you will need the following ingredients: water (2 liters), sugar (300 grams) and, of course, tangerines (500 grams).

We take tangerines, we clean them, carefully releasing them from white veins, divide into segments. We cover the rind of two tangerines with boiling water, after which we chop finely. We slice the mandarin slices in a saucepan, having previously poured water into it. Add sugar syrup, bring to a boil. Ten minutes after the boiling point, remove the pan from the fire. It remains to cool and drain. A compote of tangerines is ready. The drink turns out very tasty. Cooked once, a compote of tangerines will become a regular at your breakfast or lunch.

As already mentioned, not only mandarin pulp, but also peel is useful. So, do not throw it away. It is better to cook something delicious. You can cook, for example, candied fruit or compote, which is called - compote of tangerine crusts. This drink, incidentally, retains an amazing tangerine flavor and a huge amount of vitamins.

Washed mandarins (70 grams) are peeled, divided into slices. Zedra (2 grams) is scalded with boiling water to remove bitterness, and cut into strips. Cook the sugar syrup (from 40 grams of sugar and 150 grams of water), at the very end, adding a mandarin peel. Remove from heat and cool. Beautifully put in a bowl of mandarins and pour cold syrup with zedra.

Apparently, tangerines are not only a tasty and useful fruit, it is also a universal gastronomic basis for a large number of amazing dishes.
