History of Mallorca

The island was inhabited by people from the Paleolithic era and for many years served as a strategic point controlled by Carthage. After its defeat, these beautiful places became the base of pirates, and in 123 BC were conquered by Roman troops, which gave rise to the era of prosperity. After the fall of the Roman Empire, the island was included in the kingdom of the Vandals, and then of Byzantium, which brought Christianity with them, but did not save such beautiful lands, captured soon by the Caliphate of Cordoba. And only in 1229 Majorca (Spain), freed from the oppression of Muslims, was annexed to the kingdom of Aragon and included in the autonomous region of Spain. Until the fifties of the last century it was considered a Spanish province, until the invasion of tourists.
