Male infertility: diagnosis and treatment

Male infertility is a violation of the sexual function, which nullifies the ability to fertilize, although the commission of sexual intercourse is quite possible.

Infertility in itself is not a separate disease - it is a side effect of any disease that occurs in the human body. In particular, the inability to fertilize lead to tumors, inflammatory processes in the genitourinary system, hernia, endocrine disorders. Also, male infertility can be caused by irregular sex, sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy habits (excessive use of alcohol, drugs and nicotine).

What to do in case of suspected infertility?

If you have a suspicion of infertility, you need to visit a doctor. Diagnosis of male infertility usually begins with the analysis of sperm (this procedure is called a spermogram). Five days before the spermogram, you should give up sex, drinking alcohol and taking hot baths.

Seed for analysis is recommended directly in the clinic. However, if you still decide to sperm at home, then before that you need to buy a special container for storage and transportation. Remember that to cool semen is highly discouraged, as this can adversely affect the result of the tests.

It also happens that a single analysis is not enough and you need to be examined repeatedly. The fact is that even in a completely healthy male the concentration of sperm is constantly changing, and for the correctness of the diagnosis the doctor can give a direction for ultrasound of the seminal vesicles and the prostate.

Infertility treatment

As already mentioned, male infertility is not a disease, but a set of factors that make fertilization impossible. There are no specific symptoms for this disease, therefore the only sign of infertility is the lack of conception in the partner (during sexual activity during the year without using contraception).

To cure infertility, you need to identify its causes. In each situation, treatment is carried out in different ways. For example, if the reason for the impossibility of fertilization is hormonal imbalance, then doctors prescribe drugs that correct the hormonal background. If male infertility is the result of a trauma to the genitourinary system, then surgical intervention will help. The sexologist can return the ability to fertilize, if the disease appeared as a result of a mental trauma.

Cure of infertility is possible even in the local medical center, which provides services in this area. However, the most effective treatment was recognized for male infertility in Israel. Highly qualified specialists work in the clinics of this country, who can offer the most suitable method of treatment.

Prevention of infertility

To reduce the likelihood of male infertility, doctors recommend following simple preventive measures: to lead a mobile lifestyle, to give up tight underwear, maintain a sexual relationship with a constant partner and eat right. If possible, give up alcohol and smoking.
