Love comedies Russian and foreign: the list of the best

Love comedies are films of a special genre, lyrical and soulful. Each director considers it his duty to film at least a few movies in the style of a romantic comedy, since with rare exceptions the success of such a film is assured.

Old and new movies

Love comedies abroad are removed, as a rule, in Hollywood, in pavilions equipped with the latest technology. Such film studios as "Metro Goldwyn Mayer", "20th Century Fox", "Paramount Pictures", "Walt Disney", shoot several films a year. Russian comedies are also shot regularly. Especially popular are the popular films of the fifties and sixties, such as "Wedding with a dowry," "Kuban Cossacks," "Caucasian captive." More modern - "The irony of fate, or With a light steam," "Love and Doves" - are also popular and beloved by millions of moviegoers.

Russian and Soviet films of the past years were shot by naive, unsophisticated subjects, when the viewer knows in advance what will end. Love intrigue in the picture was without imagination, simple and predictable. The best love comedies are radically different from the usual, in them and the actors are well-known, from the top ten, and the sponsors financially finance the project without restrictions. Thus, it turns out that love comedies can also be mediocre sometimes.

"The Caucasian captive"

In 1966, a comedy film was shot at the Mosfilm studio, in which there is love and betrayal, humor and folk traditions, violation of public order and even kidnapping of the bride.

The film was staged by the famous director Leonid Gaidai, whose asset by that time was already a whole series of comedies. Originally, the film was called "Shurik in the mountains," but later renamed the "Caucasian captive." In the center of the plot is a student of ethnographic faculty named Shurik, a collector of folklore, who came to the Caucasus for legends, fairy tales and toasts. However, he did not take into account that toasts are necessarily accompanied by a drink.

In the same days and at the same village, Nina, a student of the Pedagogical Institute, came to her relatives for a summer vacation. Beauty, sportswoman, Komsomol member, Nina liked the local leader comrade Saakhov very much. He decided to marry her. About what came of it, and tells the film.

"How to steal a million"

A film in which the most bizarre way intertwined love and crime. The image of the protagonist Edward Lewis was made by Hollywood actor Richard Gere.

"Sleepless in Seattle"

A very kind romantic comedy, in which three people immediately find their happiness. Early widowed Sam, the father of a young child, is trying to find a wife. He gives an interview on the radio, tells millions of people about his misfortune. The next day, the postal van brings Sam several bags of letters with the offer of hands and hearts from women from across America.

However, he did not have to choose, fate decided otherwise. Another letter was written by a journalist named Annie. She offers Sam to meet on the roof of the New York skyscraper "Empire State Building" on Valentine's Day, at sunset.
