early years

The future painter was born in the capital of Azerbaijan - the city of Baku - in 1928. The boy grew up in the family of ordinary party worker Teymur and his wife named Sona. The talent of the young artist began to appear even at an early age. When my father returned home from work, he arranged a contest among the households for the best portrait. It was then that Tair first got acquainted with the brush.

Salakhov lived and did not know grief until 1937. Then the terrible happened. The father of the family was arrested by the Soviet authorities. Teymur was charged as many as four articles and sentenced to the highest penalty - shooting. The order was executed in the same year, and the family lost the head of the family, and the small Tahir - the father. Restore the clean name came only in 1956 during the Khrushchev thaw. Then, with Teymur Salakhov, all charges were dropped in connection with the absence of corpus delicti.

Now Sona herself kept a family that consisted of five children. However, the problems were not confined to financial difficulties. In the eyes of other people, the Salahov family became real enemies of the people. It is for this reason that children grew up in complete isolation from society.

Training

Tahir Salakhov graduated from the Azerbaijan Art College in 1950. The young man planned to get a higher education and enroll in the Institute of Painting, Architecture and Sculpture named after Ilya Efimovich Repin. However, even here the artist was expecting disappointment. Because of the line "son of the enemy of the people," Tairu failed to enter the coveted university. However, in 1957, Salakhov still graduated from the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after Vasily Ivanovich Surikov. Tahir was trained as a painter and painter. Approximately at this time, the first works that Tair Salakhov wrote appeared. The artist's paintings attracted both ordinary art lovers and true connoisseurs.

Further activities

In 1964, the artist became a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Throughout 1963-1974, Tahir Tahmurovich Salakhov teaches at the Azerbaijan State Institute. And since 1975 the artist has been working at the Surkhova Moscow State Art Museum. Since that time, Tair actively participates in the cultural life of the country. Tair Salakhov. Paintings

The first works of Tahir were "Waves" and "Overpasses". However, the first rays of glory to Salakhov brought a canvas called "From Watch". The artist wrote this picture as a thesis at the Surikov Institute. However, the glory of the canvas went far beyond the walls of the native alma mater. What was so special about this painting?

In the painting "From the Watch", oil workers are depicted who work on the Oil Rocks and return from the watch. Workers on shaky bridges return home after a heavy shift. They relaxedly go straight to meet the mighty wind, which rips off the foam from the raging sea. In the figures of oil workers you can see fatigue. However, despite the hard work, they are full of strength and perseverance.

The painting was written under the impressions of a trip to the Oil Rocks, which Tahar Tahmurovich Salakhov committed in 1956. The journey made a great impression on the artist. It was for this reason that he decided to capture his emotions from the trip. The work is done with oil.

In general, the topic of Azerbaijani oil workers occupies an honorable place in the work of Salakhov. On this topic, Tair wrote many pictures. The most popular are "Repairers", "Missions Echelon", "Morning in the Caspian", "Women of Absheron", "Over the Caspian Sea".

"To you, humanity!"

Perhaps, one of the most famous works of the artist is a picture called "To You, Mankind!". Tahir Salahov wrote it in 1961. At the moment the canvas is kept in the National Art Museum, which is located in Baku.

The history of writing the work is quite amusing. Tahir Salakhov decided to paint a picture according to the inner dictates of his own soul. However, the canvas was too big. It is for this reason that the artist was forced to leave his workshop and work near the school. Tahir Salakhov presented his work for public viewing on April 12, 1961. What is most interesting, on the same day it became known about the flight of Yuri Gagarin into space. It is for this reason that we can assume that the canvas was "prophetic".

As the author stated, he painted the picture, being impressed by the conquest of the cosmos. In the palms of the characters of the canvas you can even notice something similar to the first satellites. Many critics called the picture formalistic. Nevertheless, Salakhov decided to send his work to the exhibition of the Union of Artists of the USSR. However, soon, in order to avoid scandal, the artist himself withdrew his picture. After that, the canvas was sent to Baku, where it is kept to this day.
