Liquid Car Cover: what it is and what it is for

Going on a long trip, car owners cares to protect their "iron horse". And if earlier it needed to glue the film, today everything is much easier - a special liquid cover for cars has been developed. This is a latex-based compound (has a dark color) or, presumably, vinyl (components of this type of coating are kept strictly confidential, but there is a specific smell that shows the presence of vinyl). Compositions based on vinyl have a whitish color in the can, but after drying they are invisible.

Operating principle

Compositions, names and colors are different, but the method of application is the same: use a roller, brush or spray gun to apply the first layer (preferably abundantly, in this case it will be easier to remove the coating) and wait for it to dry. Apply the next serving and dry it again. The total number of such layers should be 3-4. Drying time depends on weather conditions, but on average 10-15 minutes. After drying the last layer the cover is ready.

Liquid car cover can protect your vehicle 10-14 days. After the end of this period, the coating needs to be removed, otherwise problems may arise (it will be difficult to scrape the protective layer in places). And do not forget to clean the car from dust and dirt before applying the compound. After the drying of the latex compound, the cover reminds you of the sensations and appearance of the rubber coating.

Protective properties

Liquid cover for the car will successfully protect the treated surfaces:

• From the appearance of chips during the ingress of small stones;
• From scratches that can inflict branches and twigs (protects from scratching sharp objects with a vinyl cover, but it can easily crawl while driving, if it's raining outside);
• From the influence of aggressive media that can occur on the road (especially relevant for winter time, when anti-ice reagents, together with snow and ice, corrode the body of the machine);
• From the fading of the paintwork under the influence of ultraviolet rays.

How to remove a liquid cover for a car

In order to remove the latex coating, it is necessary to rub it from one edge. As a result, a small roller is formed, gently pulling it, you can remove part of the coating. In this way, free the entire surface of the film. Those plots that do not want to be cleaned can be soiled with water and rubbed with a rag.

The vinyl composition is removed similarly, but the film leaves easier. If the pieces are left on the surface, they can easily be removed with a damp cloth.

Both latex and vinyl compounds do their job well: they protect the paint and varnish from chips and scratches. This was noted by the vast majority of those who used a liquid cover for cars.
