Thanks to the developers, this process has become as simple as possible and does not require special knowledge. You just need to follow the prompts of the installer, put the checkboxes next to the desired items and click the "Continue" button.

First you need to download the disk image from the official Ubuntu site and write it to a CD or DVD-ROM.

Now, start the computer from the disk. First you can get acquainted with the system without installing it on a PC, for which in the window that opens, select the Russian language and click the "Try" button.

If the distribution was of interest, then you need to restart the computer from the disk and select "Install" instead of "Try".

Before this, the availability of the necessary space on the hard disk and Internet connection will be checked. In this window, you will be offered to install third-party software and download updates during this process. To do this, check the appropriate boxes and click "Continue".

Next, a window opens in which you must select the type of installation. You can check the box next to the first item, which offers automatic partitioning of the hard disk. If you select "Other", then the markup will have to be done manually.

In the second variant, you need to create a partition table, which will include the root partition where the operating system will be located. To do this, specify the size, type, location and mount point of the partition. The Linux file system must also be specified. Then you need to create a swap partition and a number of partitions as desired. An ordinary user can omit all these actions and rely on the PC, selecting the first type of installation.

After creating the partitions, it remains to press the "Install Now" button. The next two windows need to specify their location and language layout. Then it is offered to specify the data: a name, a computer name, a user name and the password for a login to system.

Next, the installation of Ubuntu will begin, which will take no more than 20 minutes. At this time, the user will be shown slides telling about the functions of this version.
