Legal norms: essence and features

Legal norms are nothing but a kind of social norms that are necessary to regulate the relations that arise between people in the process of interaction, communication, and so on.

They, like morality, have spread to the whole of society.

Legal norms are formally defined mandatory rules of conduct, which were not only accepted by the state, but also provided to them. They are directed directly at the regulation of any social relations.

What distinguishes the rule of law from other norms? First of all, we note that her character is impersonal. Like this? This means that it acts immediately at all. At the same time, the desires of the persons affected are not taken into account. Also it should be said that the legal norms are created in order to regulate the external behavior of people. They are defined to consciousness and will in the performance of certain actions. Undoubtedly, it is important that the legal norms are recognized as such only by the state, and not by someone else.

The considered norm is nothing more than an elementary part of the system of law. It does not matter whether constitutional-legal or municipal-legal norms are meant - both have a great "weight". Differences, of course, there are, however, the main features are always the same.

Let's talk directly about the signs

As already mentioned, it is important to have a connection with the state. No one else can authorize legal norms. The measures of state influence here are stimulation, coercion, and control. The norms of law can be expressed only in official state acts.

The universality presupposes that there should not be elected persons, which are not subject to any legal norms. The rule is - he must obey all without exception. Such norms are necessary to ensure that people in legal relationships are full participants. They determine the boundaries of acceptable or proper behavior.

You can not do without formal certainty here. In general, this form is written, and the norm itself is in an official document. Internal certainty requires a clear explanation of each point. The consequences that will follow after the violation must also be precisely defined.

Legal norms have a representative-binding nature. What are we talking about? That they not only assign duties, but also grant rights. Neither the first nor the second can not be neglected, just like overestimating. Abuse of the law is considered unacceptable.

If the legal norms are not respected, then the state has the full right to resort to coercion in order to achieve the proper public order. Offenders are expected to have a certain legal responsibility. Its variety directly depends on the nature of the violated rule of law. Punishment may be imposed only by a certain body authorized to make it. Legality should be present absolutely in everything.
