Kursk Drama Theater: history, repertoire, troupe

Kursk Drama Theater is one of the oldest cultural centers of the country. It has existed for more than two hundred years. In the repertoire of the Kursk drama theater, both classical plays and works of contemporary playwrights.

History

Kursk Drama Theater was opened in 1792. It was built with the money of the local nobility. The initiative of opening the theater in the city belonged to the Governor-General of Kursk AA. Bekleshev. It was here in 1805 that the legendary actor made his debut, named after the Moscow Theater School - Mikhail Shchepkin, who at that time was a serf. On the stage of the theater there were such artists as V.I. Kachalov, V.F. Komissarzhevskaya, K.A. Varlamov, A.A. Yablochkina and others. In 1911, the drama theater of Kursk was given the name of M. Schepkin, and in 1937 - Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin. The troupe left and continues to go on tour abroad, actively participates in festivals. Kursk Drama Theater is an active participant in various festivals. In 2012 he celebrated his 220th anniversary. On this occasion a big creative evening was held.

Yuri Valerievich Bure-Nebelsen received a directorial education in GITIS. His teacher - M.O. Knebel. He began his career with the Volgograd Theater of Musical Comedy. There he was a director and worked exclusively with the comedy genre. The next stage of his creative career was the theater named after I.S. Turgenev in the city of Orel. In Kursk Drama Theater Yuri Valeryevich came to work in 1982 by invitation. He started here as a director. He impressed the audience with his talent as a director from the very first performances. For his work Yu.Bure was repeatedly awarded with prizes and diplomas. His productions enjoy constant success with the public. One of his most brilliant performances was the drama M.Yu. Lermontov's The Masquerade. For her, Yuri Vasilievich received the State Prize of Russia. Artistic director of the theater, J. Bure was appointed in 1991 and still holds this position. Thanks to this man, the acting department was opened in the Kursk College of Culture. Yuri Bure is the head of the students. On the stage of the Kursk Theater, Yuri Vasilyevich has already staged more than a hundred performances.
