Kolomna Park in the south of Moscow

Even not all Muscovites know that, without leaving the capital, you can find yourself in a very unusual and unlike Moscow. It is the Kolomna park on the southern outskirts of a huge metropolis. Once here, you find yourself completely in a different reality, with Moscow connected only by geographical location on the bank of the same name river and historical heritage.

A bit of history

The village of Kolomenskoye ... It was founded by the inhabitants of the city of Kolomna, who fled from the Mongol-Tatar invasion. The first mention of its existence dates back to the beginning of the fourteenth century. For several centuries Kolomenskoye has seen many kings, grand dukes and historical figures of a lesser rank. In these walls and around them literally Russian history was created. But the heyday falls on the period of the reign of the Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich. Kolomenskoye became his favorite country residence. To a large extent, it was during his reign that a unique architectural complex and that natural-landscape Kolomna park that we see today formed.

Soon the capital was moved by Peter the Great to St. Petersburg, and the Moscow Region residence was on the periphery of state and political life. This allows us to survey the Kolomna park almost in its original form, such as it was formed by the monarch's will, the diligence of court architects and the centuries-old works of serf craftsmen. By a happy coincidence of historical circumstances, Kolomna Park was avoided by the war, revolution, reconstruction, modernization and privatization.

Kolomna today

Kolomenskoye has become a favorite holiday destination for many Muscovites and guests of the capital. Just because it's beautiful, comfortable and quiet. There are no noisy buffoonery entertainments, which have become traditional for many Moscow gardens and parks. But this place does not set for entertainment, but rather for contemplation and reflection on the past, present and future. Kolomensky Park has the official status of a protected natural landscape reserve. Therefore, it is forbidden to lie down and trample on lawns. It is possible that this is the only inconvenience. But here you can just come to rest your soul from the endless city bustle.

If you come here - grab a camera or camcorder. It is difficult to imagine a place in Moscow that is more interesting for a photographer than Kolomna Park. His photos are adornments of many exhibitions, albums and advertising polygraphy. Among other things, this is a luxurious natural setting, in which the scenes of many films are shot. Kolomensky Park, whose address is well known to many producers, actors and directors of films and serials, has become a living set of motion pictures on historical themes. But for an ordinary person Kolomna Park is a luxury opportunity for a Sunday holiday. It is located very close, you can get there by metro, the nearest stations are Kolomenskaya and Kashirskaya. It is very good to be here with children, it will be a real excursion to the reserved corner of Russian history.
