Historical reference

The international airport "Kazan" was built in the 30s within the city limits. In 1972, a project was approved for the construction of a new air hub of international importance. Construction was completed in 7 years, and the airport was put into operation. Then it had the name "Kazan-2", since it was located in a new territory - 26 km from the capital. And already in 1985, he was given the status of an international airport of the first class.

Infrastructure and the technical base of the airport were constantly improved, and the route network was steadily expanding. In 1986 it was renamed into the International Airport "Kazan". A year later, the first international flight to Berlin on an aircraft Tu-154 was carried out. During this period, the service of international flights began.

Currently, the airport is being modernized, which will continue until 2025. Within its framework, a new terminal 1A was built and put into operation.

How to get there

26 kilometers south-east of the city is the international airport "Kazan". The address of the airport is Laishevsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The bus runs to the airport number 97. It leaves from the Novosavinovsky district, from the stop "Sotsgorod". The ticket costs 39 rubles. The journey time from the first to the final stop is about 1.5 hours. Buses between the city and the airport run from 5am to 11pm.

If you use a private car, the route should be built through the Orenburg highway. It will be necessary to go through the settlements of Bolshie and Malye Kabany. You can park your car in the free parking near the VIP terminal. Opposite terminals 1 and 1A parking is paid.

You can get to the airport by taxi, the price of which is about 500 rubles.

Also between the airport and the city the electric train "Swallow" runs daily. Travel time is 20 minutes. The train departs from the Kazan station 9 times a day - 00:15, 08:00, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00, 18:00, 20:00, 22:00. The railway station is connected to the airport building by a pedestrian gallery.
