Journey to the fabulous Rio de Janeiro

In South America, on the coast of the Atlantic rose the beautiful metropolis of Rio de Janeiro, which was once discovered by the Portuguese explorer and traveler Gaspar de Lemos. Then (and it was in January), he sailed to the Gulf of Guanabara and, taking him by the river, called this place the "January River". Some time later, everyone realized that this was a mistake, but the name given to this area was fixed to it forever.

A lot of tourists dream to visit Rio de Janeiro, but it is important to note that this trip will not be easy. First, from Moscow there are no direct flights to this metropolis, so you will have to make at least one transplant. Most often Russian tourists fly to Sao Paulo, from where they change planes to Rio. This way will take you about an hour and will cost no more than a hundred dollars.

In Rio de Janeiro itself, there are no problems with transport. The buses that go along their route are very popular, but stop at the request of passengers. The metro is small here, only two branches, and on Sunday it does not work. Tourists often travel around Rio by taxi. Here it is not very expensive, but drivers are used to a small tip (about 10 percent of the cost of the road).

The city of Rio de Janeiro is a real paradise for lovers of warmth. The air temperature here never falls below the mark of 25 in the daytime, and at night it rarely is less than 20 degrees. The oceanic bay also does not cool down: the minimum temperature index is 20 degrees Celsius, and in the winter months the water is heated to 27 degrees Celsius. The tourist should note: there are almost no storms in Rio de Janeiro, since the Gulf of Guanabara is more like a picturesque bay than an endless watery expanse.

The most popular among beach lovers in this wonderful city are the coasts of Copacabana and Ipanema. Along them and the main hotel complexes of the city are located, in which tourists from different countries stop. It is important to know that a vacation in Rio de Janeiro will not be very cheap because the prices for accommodation here are much higher than in other cities of Brazil. And in winter, when the highest temperatures of water and air are observed here, the cost of rooms rises even more. It is also connected with the enchanting New Year carnival that takes place in this city.

Local cuisine will please with its variety even the most demanding tourist. Over the years, Brazilian culinary traditions evolved from European, Arab and indigenous Indian recipes. So the most famous Brazilian dish was born - a feijoada, which includes smoked meat, white beans and lots of spices. The most amazing drink in Rio de Janeiro is coffee, which by secret technology is brewed here. After glancing into this city, try a local strong drink with cachasha, and also smoke a Brazilian cigar.

However, the main attractions of Rio de Janeiro are still its snow-white broad beaches, noisy discos and unearthly carnival, which takes place here every year, gathering more and more people who want to have fun.
