Isogypsum is a modern material for plastering

In modern construction, various kinds of dry plasters made on the basis of gypsum are widely used. They are used for interior finishing of premises. Especially popular is gypsum plaster, which is called isohypse.

What is this material?

Isohyps is a starting dry mix, made on the basis of natural natural binder - gypsum. Also, the composition includes mineral fillers and various additives. Putty starting is different from other types of coarse grinding of the main components that make up its composition. It is an indispensable material in the construction and repair.

Gypsum plaster, the price of which depends on the manufacturer, is sold mainly in bags of 30 kg each. The cost of this amount of dry mix varies from 250 to 400 rubles.

Properties of gypsum plaster

Isohyps - a mixture of high quality without a pungent smell. Its properties do not promote the reproduction of mold, fungi and bacteria. The material is elastic in structure, does not shrink, is compatible with all acrylic emulsions, it is convenient to use. Inside the room, where moisture is increased, it is able to absorb moisture, and at high temperature it is returned. Isogypsum is a material that, thanks to its porous structure, saves heat and absorbs sound. As you can see, there are many advantages.

Gypsum plaster, the price of which is available to each consumer, has such basic properties:

  • Prolongation of setting and processing time;
  • white;
  • Excellent heat and sound insulation properties;
  • environmentally friendly product.

Application of plaster

Where is it used? Isogypsum is a material intended for plastering, leveling surfaces from brick, concrete, foam concrete, combined walls or ceilings indoors. With the help of it it is possible to disguise cracks, seams, fill holes and other significant defects, and also hide irregularities on the surface. It is used when treating the internal surfaces of the room as a preparatory layer before applying the finish coat.

Surface preparation

Before applying gypsum plaster, prepare the surface - clean the walls of dirt, old paint, loose plaster, dust and degrease, if necessary. To improve adhesion, the surface is treated with a primer so that it covers the entire wall without missing. To avoid delamination of the starting plaster from the surface, experts recommend purchasing a primer emulsion of the same company as the putty. The quality of the finish depends on this.

All metal structures under the plaster must be covered with oil paint to avoid the appearance of red spots. The surface must be dry after treatment.

Preparation of the solution

To prepare the solution it is necessary to fill a clean container with water, then pour isohypsum (10 kg of dry mixture and 6 liters of liquid) and wait for 2-3 minutes. Stir the mixture until a homogeneous solution is obtained, using an electric drill or a perforator with a nozzle (aperture). A thicker solution should be prepared if necessary to hide deep irregularities on the surface.

Priming plaster is to be used within 80-100 minutes, the time of full hardening is 140 minutes. The material consumption is 10 kg / m 2 with a layer thickness of 10 mm. Do not prepare the solution in large quantities, as the mixture dries quickly. Do not use hardened putty.

Application of gypsum plaster

If the walls are very crooked or there is no desired degree of angle, it is necessary to put beacons in front of the putty. They are located in 1-1.5 m, depending on the length of the surface. Then a solution is thrown between the beacons and pulled up by the rule. If the walls are relatively even, they can be puttyped without them. Apply the solution with a metal large and small spatulas with a layer from 5 to 30 millimeters. If the thickness of the plaster layer is more than 30 mm, it is recommended to apply a reinforced fiberglass mesh on the surface, which will prevent it from peeling and cracking.

On the walls putty starting is applied, starting from the corner or from the bottom up. The ceiling is trimmed towards you. Thus, the surface is drawn into a flat vertical or horizontal line. The putty should dry for about 24 hours, while ensuring that there are no drafts in the room and exposure to direct sunlight. After drying the plaster must be rubbed with sandpaper or a special mesh 100-150. This is necessary in order to remove traces from the spatula and to give the surface evenness.

If you bring the luminous light bulb to the wall, you can check the quality of the putty works. The shadow well shows depressions and other flaws. Smooth surface is ready for application of finishing putty.

Isohypes is quite popular among buyers. Due to the excellent properties of the builders prefer gypsum plasters, reviews about which the professionals are very good.
