If the USB ports do not work
Find a modern motherboard, devoid of native support for the universal serial USB bus standard, has recently become impossible. Although its presence or absence does not affect the performance of other components, it nevertheless significantly expands the capabilities of the computing system.
Now the lion's share of peripheral devices are connected to the computer through USB. These are printers, keyboards, mice, scanners, mobile phones, digital cameras and, of course, flash drives and external hard drives. Therefore, if for any reason the USB port does not work, then this can be regarded as a serious malfunction. In this respect, portable computing devices are particularly vulnerable - laptops, netbooks, tablets.
If USB ports do not work in the personal computer, the lost functionality can be simply and quickly returned - it is enough to purchase an expansion card and connect it to the PCI or PCI-Express connector (depending on the modification). In addition, this way in the old system can add support for the latest high-speed USB standard of the third version. But if the USB ports on the laptop do not work, in order to solve this problem, in some cases it may be necessary to visit the service center (SC).
By the way, in the global network, most articles, which indicate the order of actions for self-repair, are redirected specifically to the sites of repair shops.
But there is a way out. Having found out that USB-ports do not work, you can try to restore their own performance.
First of all, you just need to reboot the system. Sometimes it helps.
The next action (if the previous one did not bring the desired result), you need to remove the cords of the connected devices from the USB ports.
There is a possibility that USB ports do not work because of too high a current load on the electrical cascades of the bus.
Then you need to connect one device, for example, a mouse, and check. Therefore, you need to test all the connectors, as sometimes only some of them are faulty.
Next, in the "Device Manager" of Windows, you should delete all the entries in the "USB Controllers" group and restart the computer. After that it is useful to install the driver on the motherboard chipset (Intel, NVidia or AMD).
If all these actions were unsuccessful, then as a cardinal means you can try to reinstall the operating system. And only after that carry the computer to the service center.
Of course, all of the above should be done, making sure that the use of the USB bus is not prohibited in the system BIOS.
