Hydrogen sulfide is a poisonous medicine

Hydrogen sulfide is a chemical substance with toxic properties and an unpleasant smell reminiscent of the smell of rotten eggs. This component is used in manufacturing and in medicine. Its weak solution in water (hydrosulphuric acid) is used for medicinal purposes: for irrigation, microclysters, douching, baths. The latter type of treatment is the most common and effective.

Useful properties and indications for use

Hydrogen sulphide is mainly used to make healing baths. Depending on the individual characteristics of each organism, the concentration of the substance in water can reach from 10 to 250 mg / l. When immersed in a medium enriched with sulfides and hydrogen sulphide, the human body undergoes a reflex action. Thanks to this, blood flow increases, accordingly, nutrition of all internal organs and tissues improves, regenerative processes and metabolism are accelerated.

Hydrogen sulfide baths are recommended for use in diseases of the skin, joints, bones, ligaments, tendons, muscles. Widespread treatment with this substance in disorders of the nervous, cardiovascular and genitourinary systems. This procedure is also assigned to eliminate the consequences of severe injuries (fractures, paresis of paralysis , etc.).

A unique chemical compound is also used in cosmetology: the hydrogen sulfide solution tightens the skin, fights acne and acne, and helps to reduce cellulite.

Features of the admission of medical procedures

Hydrogen sulfide improves blood circulation, which increases the temperature of the human body. Therefore, the water temperature in the healing bath in most cases does not exceed 35 degrees. A hotter environment adversely affects the body. However, depending on the condition and human disease, the temperature may be slightly lower or higher. The average time of the procedure is 10 minutes. Excessive exposure to a hydrogen sulfide bath can cause weakness, dizziness and vasospasm. In this regard, treatment should be conducted under the supervision of a specialist.

Do not completely immerse in water. The area of the chest, neck and head should always be on the surface. During bathing is not recommended to move. After the procedure, you should wipe the body thoroughly and spend half an hour in a restful state.

In addition to traditional baths, hydrogen sulphide is used in the semi-baths. So, for example, there are procedures designed exclusively for a specific area of the body (most often for the feet or hands). Also water enriched with hydrogen sulphide is used for washing or irrigation of the face and head, for rinsing the mouth, compresses and lotions.

Contraindications

Do not forget that hydrogen sulphuric acid is still a toxic substance, so treatment should be treated with great care. So, it is forbidden to take medicinal baths at an elevated body temperature, malignant tumors, heart defects, atherosclerosis, tuberculosis, kidney, vascular and liver diseases. Also, it is not recommended to resort to treatment with chemicals during pregnancy and during the subsequent period of breastfeeding.

In no case should you try to take a bath at home, since poisoning with hydrogen sulfide may occur. Intoxication is dangerous with an unconscious state, confusion in a coma, and even a fatal outcome. It should be remembered that procedures with chemicals are carried out in specialized premises equipped with powerful air-purifying systems. Therefore, an ordinary apartment can not be a safe place for such treatment methods.
