How to make grape wine at home

In ancient times, wine was used in Egypt instead of any other drinks: refrigerators did not exist then, pasteurization had not yet been invented, so juices and even water in a hot climate quickly deteriorated. Wine in order not to get drunk, strongly diluted with water: to say more precisely, some wine was added to the water so that it did not spoil.

The grapes have excellent taste, healing and nutritional qualities - for good reason the ancient Greeks called it sunny nectar. Among other things, grapes not only contain vitamins, but also in the process of fermentation it acquires new useful substances. It is used by physicians to treat and prevent many diseases: for example, doctors prescribe small doses of wine to people with unstable pressure, who suffer from anemia, and it also improves appetite. Many today make grape wine at home, because it is known that 100 grams of this drink, consumed daily, removes all radionuclides from the body, so it is very useful, for example, to those who work at nuclear power plants.

How to make grape wine at home?

There is nothing particularly difficult to prepare: the process consists of only two main stages - collecting and preparing berries and, in fact, fermentation.

Initially, it is necessary to remove the berries from the bunches and sort them out, separating the rotten, wormy and spoiled berries so that they do not fall into the future wine. Otherwise, the drink will have an unpleasant smell and taste.

If the berries are not covered with dust and do not have other contaminants - they are not necessary to wash: the skin on its surface has bacteria that will have a beneficial effect on the fermentation process. If the grapes are washed, then it will go a little worse.

Then there is a crush of berries. In ancient times, grapes were pressed with their feet - now this method is also often used. You can also use it, but do not forget to wash your feet thoroughly - unlike the bacteria already available, strangers are not needed for the drink. Preparation of grape wine at home is not necessary to conduct with the observance of ancient traditions, so you can safely use a juicer or a special crush for berries. It is important that each berry is flattened. As a container, a large metal pan, better enameled, will do. After - with the help of gauze or colander, separate the cake from the juice.

Now you can either grape grape juice or make grape wine at home. To make juice, you just need to add to the sugar mass obtained from the crush and boil it well, then roll it in a bottle. Keep in mind that the product will be concentrated, so it will have to be diluted with water.

Grape wine at home: the final stage

In order to prepare it, you will need a special container - it's 10 or 20-liter bottles. Filling them should be two-thirds, since fermentation leads to an increase in the amount of wort.

Pour the juice into the bottles, clog them with polypropylene lids, previously making holes in them, into which insert plastic tubing (through which the carbon dioxide produced during fermentation will be removed). Holes with tubes should be clamped with plasticine or wax, the other end of them should be lowered into a container with water: oxygen will not be allowed to enter the bottle, otherwise it can adversely affect the taste of the drink, violating the fermentation process.

After the bottle is best placed in the cellar or basement of the month for two or three, about once a week checking how everything goes. After this time, grape wine at home (a strength of about five degrees) will be ready.
