Today, a variety of materials can be used to protect the roof. One of the most popular, of course, is a metal profile (corrugated board). It is produced by the method of cold rolled steel of high grades. Make the roof of the metal profile if desired, you can do it yourself, because one of the obvious advantages of this material is the ease of installation. The profiled sheeting can be used for roofs of all sizes and configurations. Today, such roofs can be seen everywhere.

What is a corrugated board?

Profilist is a plate of fairly thin metal (0.5 to 1 mm), covered with a polymer layer. Its surface is made in the form of waves. The dimensions of the metal profile for the roof can be very different. When choosing a variety of material, first of all, it is necessary to pay attention to the height of the wave and the thickness of the metal used for its production.

The main advantages of corrugated board

The main advantages of the metal profile, in addition to the ease of installation of sheets, include:

Disadvantages of the metal profile

The minuses of this material are, first of all, noise. However, when using a sufficiently thick heat-insulating layer, which in this case can be considered as noise-proof, the consequences of such a defect can be reduced to almost zero.

If the outer decorative layer is damaged, corrosion may develop on the sheets. Some drawbacks can be considered and that, arranging the roof of the metal profile, you need to be very careful to ensure that the joints between the elements were maximally sealed. 1. Material of mark "C". Used for finishing the walls.
2. Profilist of the brand "H". It has the highest strength characteristics and can be used for roofing.

1. The number of elements in the horizontal row. For this, the length of the roof slope is preliminarily measured. Of course, respectively, in the horizontal direction. 2. To calculate the length of the sheets and the number of rows, you need to add the length of the overlap to the length of the ramp (vertically), as well as the length of the overhang of the cornice.

Preparation of tools and materials

Before proceeding with the installation of the roof, it is necessary to prepare tools. At hand should be:

• Building level and plumb bob;
• Scissors for metal or electric jigsaw required for cutting sheets;
• electric drill;
• A pencil and a square;
• Screwdriver;
• Self-tapping screws.

The corrugated sheet itself must be transported and raised to the roof with the utmost care. Otherwise, it is possible to damage the protective polymer layer.

Installing sheets on skates

Now let's see how the roof is made from the metal profile with your own hands. The installation of the sheets starts from the bottom. They are attached to the crate by screws in the lower part of the wave. This will ensure the reliability of the installation. Overlapping must be performed for at least one wave. On one 1m ² roof should account for at least 6-7 screws. Horizontal overlap (between rows) should be about 20 cm.

Facing the gable

In the production of the calculation necessary for the gable facings, the material is taken into account exactly how it will be laid. The most economical is the horizontal installation method. In addition, in this case the house will look more aesthetic. When calculating it is worth taking into account the fact that approximately 10-15% of the material is used for cutting.

For the pediment, the wall profiled sheeting "C" is quite suitable. You can also use the material "H" and "NS". After carrying out heat and waterproofing, mount a framework of wooden racks. They will need to fix the windproof film. The profiled worker is cut using a hacksaw for metal or electric jigsaw.

Arranging the roof of the metal profile, you need to be extremely careful in terms of the possibility of damaging the polymer coating. Otherwise, the design service lines will be significantly reduced, as the elements will eventually rust. Therefore, it is not recommended to use the Bulgarian for cutting the sheets. To fasten the cut profiled sheet to the frame it is necessary to start from the bottom corner. All elements are overlapped.

Mounting of the ridge

The device of a roof from a metal profile includes also installation of the ridge. The skate joint is closed at the top by a ready-made element, which can be purchased simultaneously with the purchase of sheets. A skate is made of the same material as the basic elements. It is necessary to prevent falling under the sheets of water. Laying in this case should begin to be carried out in the opposite direction prevailing in this particular area of the winds of the side. Mounted ridge elements with an overlap of 15-20 cm in the crest with a step of 20-30 cm. For fastening, self-tapping screws are also used.

Mounting of the valley

Mounting the roof of the metal profile, it is necessary, among other things, to properly install valleys. In this case, a good sealing is very important. Horizontally, the elements are connected with an overlap of 10-15 cm. The joints are compulsorily treated with a sealant.
