How to find out how much in a roll of wallpaper meters

Despite the emergence of new technologies for the construction and decoration of living spaces, wallpaper is still very popular.

Perhaps, someday they will have to be abandoned, as from carpets on the walls, but so far we have to count how many on the roll of wallpaper meters.

Repair is a responsible business

Before you go to the store and buy wallpaper in the apartment, you need to use a tape measure to take measurements and perform simple calculations. This will enable you to correctly choose the number of rolls, glue and avoid unnecessary costs.

In some articles it is indicated that it is necessary to consider the perimeter of a repaired premises, but this method, although it gives similar results, is more complicated and it is better not to use it.

So, first of all, you need to know the height from floor to ceiling, as well as the length and width of the room, and not how many in a roll of wallpaper meters - this will be required before the purchase. Also window and door openings are measured , that is all those places where wallpaper will not be pasted. If we now multiply the length by the width of each such opening, we get an area for which a sticker is not needed. For example, if the height of the wall is 3 m and the length is 4 m, then the area will be 12 sq. M. M.

In case there is a window, then its area is calculated exactly the same and subtracted from 12. That is, if the window is 1.5 x 1 m in size, then 1.5 square meters will be superfluous. M. Accordingly, you need to buy 12-1.5 = 10.5 square meters. Under the resulting number and you need to select the material for pasting. It is at this stage you can start to wonder how many meters in a roll of wallpaper. Why? Because, knowing the length and width, you can count the area of paper in a roll.

Selection

Find out how many in a roll of wall-paper of meters, it is possible very simply. To do this, it is enough to read the characteristics specified by the manufacturer on the paper insert. Most often there are variants of wallpaper, the length of which is 10 meters. However, there are 8, 12 and 15 meter varieties. Sometimes you can come across a very short wallpaper - only five meters. As a rule, these are heavy decorative options. The width is also different: from 53 cm to 1.06 m.

Knowing how many in a roll of wall-paper of meters, it is possible to leave easily on their necessary quantity. In the above example, we considered a wall with an area of 10.5 square meters. M. Suppose that the choice fell on wallpaper with a width of 53 cm and a length of 10 m.

The area of one such roll is 10 * 0.5 = 5 sq. M. M. Therefore, for a wall of 10.5 sq. M. M need 10.5 / 5 = 2.1 roll. In this case, it turned out not quite convenient - it is not too rational to acquire "excess", and shortage is also unpleasant. The solution is individual. Someone will not glue a part of the wall, hidden furniture, and someone will store the leftovers in the stock (which, by the way, is rarely used).
Also, it is quite possible that three centimeters unaccounted for will be enough to compensate for the missing area.

Wrong option

We showed how to calculate the required number of rolls based on the area calculation. Sometimes people use a different method. Knowing the height of the ceilings, the total length of the roll and the width of the wallpaper, mentally consider the number of bands. Complexity occurs when there is a door or window opening. In principle, although the method gives the same results as when calculating the area, it is more difficult to use.
