How do I clean the nozzles? Ultrasonic cleaning of injectors. Cleaning fluid for injectors

Many car owners know that one of the main elements of the injection system is the injector. The holes through which the fuel is supplied are gradually clogged. The fuel mass during combustion forms a deposit on the injector and engine. As a result, the jets are clogged. Faulty fuel is supplied through the blocked holes. Its just not enough. The air mass is not homogeneous, and liquid fuel enters the engine. This significantly worsens the operation of the vehicle. But how do I clean the injectors on the injector?

Stages of contamination

Before answering the question on how to clean the injectors, it is worthwhile to figure out what stages of pollution are, and how this affects the work of the vehicle.

The injector is an important element in the system. There are three stages of contamination:

  1. Small. In general, the car's engine is operating normally. However, fuel consumption is increased: about 2 liters per 100 km. Also, the productivity of the injector falls by 5-9%.
  2. Average. In this case, the engine starts to malfunction, significantly fuel consumption increases, the emissions become uneven. At the same time, the injector capacity can drop to 20%. Due to improper exhaust in the passenger compartment, an unpleasant odor may appear.
  3. Strong. The engine starts to work badly and tries to simply "jump out" from under the hood. At the same time, several cylinders can not function at all at idle speed. In the air filter, or rather in its body, with a sharp pressure on the gas, claps are heard. At the same time, the injector output is reduced by 50%.

Methods of cleaning

The injectors of the injector are contaminated regularly, and this is inevitable. Therefore, they need to be cleaned periodically. Usually a similar procedure is carried out after a run of 30 thousand kilometers. This allows you to maintain the performance of the vehicle systems. If you do not know how to clean the nozzles on the VAZ and other models, then you should contact the specialists.

At the moment there are several methods:

  • Flushing with liquid injectors;
  • Ultrasonic washing.

Application of liquids

So, how do you clean the injectors yourself? When washing with liquid, the injector from the engine is not removed. A special apparatus is required for this procedure. With its help is fed to the nozzles liquid. According to the principle of operation, this unit resembles a fuel pump. However, instead of fuel, a reagent is supplied. In order to avoid undesirable consequences, the fuel supply systems must be completely disconnected . The nozzle cleaning fluid is able to peel resin deposits from the injector, the combustion chamber walls and the valve. To remove all plaque from the injection system, a continuous supply of reagent is required. The procedure takes about 30 minutes. The pressure should be from 2 to 4 atmospheres.

Features of the procedure

Since it is not always possible to clean the injectors, care should be taken. To ensure that the liquid does not enter the fuel tank, it is recommended to completely switch off the fuel supply system. After all, the reagent dissolves almost any deposits. Their accumulation in the fuel tank can cause clogging of the intake grid of the gasoline pump, as well as the fuel filter when fuel is supplied to the engine. As a result, ultrasonic cleaning of the injector may be required . In this case, the gasoline pump will have to be replaced.

What equipment is required

Cleaning of the nozzles, the price of which depends on several factors, is carried out by feeding the reagent into the system. In specialized services a special device is used. At home, almost no one uses it, since such an assembly is not cheap. To buy the device simply does not make sense.

To flush the nozzles at home, you can use a device assembled from improvised materials. The unit will be a simplified version. To prevent the reagent from entering the fuel tank during the procedure, the injector is recommended to be extracted from under the ramp.

What will be required

To conduct the procedure at home, it is worth preparing:

  • Washing liquid - 2 cylinders.
  • Hose length from 10 to 15 cm.
  • Clamp - 2 pcs.
  • It will take a knife to work with wires and a hose.
  • Light bulb for 12 volts.
  • Button for 2 contacts, but without fixation.
  • Charger, preferably at 12 volts. This is enough to open the nozzles.
  • A set of tools for extracting injectors.

How to rinse the nozzles at home

To begin with, disconnect the "-" wire from the battery and then remove the injectors. To do this, remove the corrugation, the throttle valve assembly and the manifold from the air filter. After this, it is necessary to disconnect the transmission and accelerator cable, the heater and breather hose, and all other hoses that go to the injector and the injector chips. As a result of the manipulations, a ramp will be visible.

This process does not end with parsing. To prevent the fuel from reaching the ramp, unscrew the return of the fuel supply located near the power-assisted tank. It is not difficult. It is fixed to the ramp by two bolts, and also by one bolt with two washers. When carrying out all manipulations, it is recommended to lay a cloth on which the remains of fuel will flow. Now it is necessary to twist three bolts, on which the ramp holds. Lifting it, you can remove the nozzles.

Collecting the washing system

Since it is impossible to rinse the nozzles without a special system, it is necessary to assemble it. To do this, take a reagent bottle and attach a piece of hose to its cover, fixing it with clamps. The output of the injector should be placed in a plastic container, the volume of which is 1.5-2 liters. This will drain the reagent. Isolation on the charger should be cut, and then connect the red wire "+" using the terminal with the button, and the "-" wire should be fixed with terminals to the injector contact.

Now in the chain you need to turn on the light bulb for 12 volts. This is required so that during the operation of the system the winding does not burn on the nozzle. With the bulb you need to connect the second contact of the part, and attach the second wire to the button. To check the operation of the circuit, it is necessary to include a charger in the network. At the same time, the lamp should light up, and a click will sound, which indicates the opening of the injectors.

Washing process

So, how do you clean the injectors yourself? If the circuit works, then it is possible to proceed with the removal of contaminants. To do this, create pressure in the hose. It is enough to press the cylinder button with the reagent, releasing a small amount of liquid into the hose and the closed nozzle.

In this case, you need to be careful. The hose on the cylinder head must be tightly fixed. Otherwise, excessive pressure can disrupt the integrity of the system. After that, it is necessary to simulate the opening of the injector by pressing the button in the chain. As a result, the injector should release a jet of cone-shaped liquid into the plastic container. The process must be repeated until the system is completely cleared. The same should be done with each nozzle.

In the end, it is necessary to replace the sealing rings at the ends of the parts. After flushing, the injector can be put back in place and all hoses and wires fixed. How much does the cleaning of the nozzles cost? The price for a similar procedure in the cabin is from 1000 to 2500 rubles. At home, the costs are negligible: 2 cylinders of fluid.

Reagent selection

The nozzle cleaning liquid should be selected carefully. After all, much depends on the reagent. Among the most popular brands of such liquids is:

  • LIQUI MOLLY - universal composition, which is suitable for almost every vehicle. This liquid cleans gently. However, the drug is not able to remove carbon from the engine valves. Can be used at home.
  • Carbon Clean - a tool that allows you to carry out high-quality, but soft cleaning.
  • Wynn's is a very caustic remedy that can remove any carbon deposits, as well as resin deposits. Suitable is a fluid for vehicles that have been produced since 2003. However, experts recommend that before making a purchase, make sure that the reagent is exactly right for your machine.
  • "Laurel" - this tool is an analogue of Wynn's, but its cost will be much higher. Such a liquid is rarely used.

Ultrasonic Cleaning

This method is the second most effective. The nozzles are cleaned in this case only with the help of special devices. Such equipment allows not only to flush nozzles, but also to perform diagnostics. When cleaning, the injector is completely removed from under the ramp, and then lowered into a container with a special solution.

The bath, where the part is located, is sonicated. Due to this, the surface of all nozzles is mechanically cleaned. This removes contamination from several injectors. The first stage is conducted in a sparing mode. After this, a check is performed by simulating the injection of fuel. At the same time, the quality of the spraying is evaluated. Choosing a method for cleaning injectors, it is worth considering that the injector can be made of a fragile alloy. When machining with ultrasound, the part can be severely damaged. Therefore, experts recommend carefully selecting the power of the impact. At the same time start with the smallest, gradually increasing it.

Ultrasound at home

For this purification, you will need:

  • Hot water.
  • The powder is washing, but not bleaching.
  • The ultrasonic machine.
  • Capacity for injectors.

To begin with it is necessary to take out the injector from under the ramp as described in the previous method. Pour water into the container and then pour in the powder. In the liquid must be placed ultrasonic machine and injectors. Now you need to start a normal washing cycle. After half an hour, it is recommended to change the water.

Cleaning should be continued until the smell of fuel disappears almost completely. On average, the process lasts about 5 hours. In the end, it is necessary to change the cuffs, check the operation of the injector, and then return the part to its place.

Which washing method is best?

So, how do I clean the nozzles at home? Which method is better? As practice shows, the best way to remove carbon deposits is to flush the injector with a special liquid. If the nozzles are not heavily soiled, you can clean them with ultrasound. It is worth noting that the latter option is much cheaper if you contact the car wash. The cost of cleaning the injector with ultrasound is, as a rule, 300 rubles.
