Hermann Goering - pilot, minister and criminal

For twelve years there was a German National Socialist state, and for one of the leaders of the Hitler government, by his own admission, they became a whole millennium. His name is Hermann Goering.

Personality is contradictory, on the one hand, aristocrat and erudite, highly educated officer, hero-pilot, on the other - a merciless killer and drug addict, mired in luxury. Such was the man whom Adolf Hitler called his closest aide.

In the First World War, Hermann Wilhelm Goering entered the infantry in the post of adjutant. When he, ill with arthritis, visited a friend and offered to enroll in aviation, he, without thinking for a long time, agreed.

Despite the numerous postwar publications that gave an idea of the future of the Minister of Aviation and the chief forester of the Reich as a cowardly braggart, apparently he was a very good pilot and commander.

With the future German Chancellor Hermann Goering met for the first time in 1922, he was fascinated by his eloquence and forever linked his life with National Socialism. The following year, on November 9, Hitler announced the overthrow of the Bavarian government and tried to implement a government coup. The revolt, later called the beer putsch, was suppressed. A retired pilot was wounded, a certain Herr Bullin, a Jew, saved him, for which he received his life as a gift in fifteen years. Hermann Goering was able to be grateful.

Then, getting rid of the pain, he began to take morphine and became a drug addict.

After Adolf Hitler became Chancellor, the life of this war veteran turned into a long uninterrupted holiday. Hermann Goering did not know the measure of anything, he himself invented uniforms for himself, drank refined wines and cognacs, lived in his own castles, the means were allowed. The Minister of Aviation became a rich man, the owner of an entire industrial empire, consisting of enterprises taken from Jews. It was about these years that he remembered as a thousand years.

However, he did not forget about business either. German pilots received excellent training and first-class aircraft, the Luftwaffe grew by leaps and bounds, and by hours (both quantitatively and qualitatively). Herman Goering himself, along with other pilots, was retrained in the USSR, at the Lipetsk Flight School.

But everything comes to an end. The raids of Soviet aircraft on Berlin in August 1941 and the massive bombing of the Allies raised a big question mark on the promises of the Reich Minister of Aviation that no bomb ...

The events of the Second World War are widely known. Those of the Germans who understood something in strategy understood already in August 1941 that there would be no victory, the blitzkrieg failed, and Germany was not ready for a protracted confrontation with the USSR, the resources were not the same. But Goering stood for the Fuhrer to the last, although really no longer was capable of anything. However, before suicide, he excluded him from the party and ordered him to be arrested. In the confusion associated with the end of the war, Goering was guarded by the Luftwaffe pilots who let him go, and on May 8 the US sergeant was already filling out the standard prisoner's form: "The name is Goering German ...", after which the former Reichsminister was fed in the soldier's kitchen.

At the Nuremberg trial, Hermann Goering actively defended himself in the spirit of "a judge who?". He accused the United States of racism, and the USSR of totalitarianism, and this would be true if the personality of the speaker is not taken into account. After this "swan song" war criminal number 2 poisoned, avoiding a shameful death on the gallows. As it happened, nobody could explain it truthfully.
