Gusheva Rufina Sergeevna - a brave pilot and Hero of the Soviet Union

Motherland

Many fascists destroyed the squadron of the 46th Guards Aviation Regiment, in which Rufina Sergeevna Gascheva was a navigator. The place of her birth was the village of Verkhnie Chusovskiy Gorodki. It happened on October 1, 1921. However, after her birth she lived in the village of Vasilyovo, Nizhny Novgorod region, which later became the city of Chkalovsky. From 1927 to 1928 her family was in the village of Kasimovo of the Perm Region, then moved to Perm, and already in 1930 they lived in Moscow.

Instead of studying

When the Patriotic War began, Rufina Sergeevna Gasheva was to begin her studies in the third year of Moscow State University. Having graduated from the 10th grade of the school, she entered there in the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics. But already in September 1941 Rusheva Gashova left school and joined the defenders of the motherland. She liked aviation. Therefore, in February 1942, she graduated from military courses navigators. In the same month she was admitted to the women's night bomber aviation regiment as a shooter-bombardier. This regiment was formed in the city of Engels, in the same place, where there was also a military aviation school, which she graduated from.

Combat way

In many places, Rufina Sergeevna Gasheva served during the war years. Gradually, she became the navigator of the link from the shooter-bombardier, and then the navigator of the squadron. She fought in the Southern, as well as in the North Caucasian, Belorussian fronts. Released the Kuban and other territories. In total, Rufina S. Gasheva took 848 effective sorties, during these operations, the enemy's equipment and personnel were destroyed. She took part in the Berlin, Osovetskaya, East Pomeranian, as well as the Crimean, Mogilev, Białystok, and Mlavsko-Elbing operations.

Tragic Accidents

The first time it happened near Upper Agdam during the combat flight. The crew of the plane made an emergency landing with a muffled motor. However, the fascists noticed it and began to shell it. The pilot and navigator found an unexpected rescue in a swamp located nearby. But first the girls had to crawl a certain distance, at the risk of being seen by the fascists. Before seeing the saving bog, they moved away from the front line to deceive the enemy. Then they crawled along the railway embankment and hid in the reeds near the swamp. Then they moved to the east, periodically bypassing the German patrols. Two days later they made their way to their own.

The last flight

When the next time the plane was hit by enemy antiaircraft gunners, her partner Gacheva was unlucky. Another time they were shot down on the territory of Poland near the city of Nasilsk. The incendiary bullet from the antiaircraft installation hit the skin and set it on fire. Despite all the pilot's attempts to bring down the flames, he was getting closer to the gas tank. Girls decided to jump and land on parachutes. They were lucky, and they were in neutral territory. However, partner Gascheva, Olga Sanfirova, fell into anti-personnel mines and was killed.

Rewarding the hero

The efforts of Rufina Gasheva to counteract the fascist forces were noticed and highly appreciated. February 23, 1945 Rufina Sergeevna became the Hero of the Soviet Union. Under the same Decree of the Supreme Soviet, she was also awarded the Order of Lenin, plus the "Gold Star" medal. And after the war Rufina Sergeevna Gasheva spent some time in the service in the Air Force. She also served as navigator of the aviation regiment in the Northern Group of Forces stationed in Poland.

Peaceful life

After this, Gasheva fulfilled her dream and graduated. But only not at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, and not at Moscow State University. She graduated from the Department of Foreign Languages at the Military Institute. She went to the Military Academy of Armored Forces to work. First she was a teacher, then a senior lecturer at the Department of Foreign Languages. In 1961 she got a job as a senior control editor at the Military Publishing House. Since 1967, she worked in the same post in the Publishing House, which produces military and technical literature in foreign languages under the Ministry of Defense of the USSR.

Gusheva Rufina Sergeevna for the years of her life has done a lot for the country. Also her courage was rewarded with the orders of the Red Banner, she also received the Order of the Red Star, plus the First World War, the Medal of Merit. Rufina Sergeyevna left this world on May 1, 2012 in the rank of lieutenant-colonel.
