Group "Lumen". Discography. Group members

There are not so many famous rock groups in Russia. The group "Lumen" from Ufa refers to this small circle of "elite". How did the history of this musical project begin, and what are the guys doing today?

History of creation

The group "Lumen" first "gathered" in 1996 to ... to play in the entrances. In the 90's it was fashionable to gather in the porches, on the benches in the courtyard, to sing cover songs on popular songs. Here are three classmates - Rustem Bulatov, Dan Shakhanov and Garik Mamaev - decided to gather from time to time to chant the creativity of "Kino", "Chizh and K", "Chaif", etc.

In a year the guys had their own room and a set of simple instruments for rehearsals. By 1999, their composition expanded, and the guys began to participate in local festivals and concerts.

In 2002, with his own forces, "Lumen" is trying to release his first collection of songs, and it comes out. The light appears Live in Navigator club, and musicians from the band begin recording their debut album. Without waiting for him to enter the broad masses, the band members are trying to promote the song Sid & Nancy on the radio. She is taken to "Our Radio", and the guys go to Moscow, as they were invited to the famous festival called "Chart Dozen."

The meaning of the name

Why "Lumen"? The guys probably long puzzled how to call your team. A lot of things often depend on the name. As a result, the musicians stopped at the word Lumen, which is translated from Latin as "light."

Listening to the music of the project, it's easy to guess why they chose this name: they have songs that are life-affirming, and music is not devoid of "light" sadness and soulful lyrics.

Группа «Люмен»: songs and albums

"Lumen" became known even before the release of her debut album, lit up at the festival "Chartova Dozen." The guys performed for the first time on the "big" stage and believe that they were quite successful.

Finally, in 2003, the group "Lumen" releases the debut album "Without Preservatives", which includes as many as eighteen tracks. The Moscow colleagues pay attention to the children: they change the label and start cooperation with "Music-Inhalation". The musicians call their second album "Three Ways" "revolutionary", but what they had in mind is not entirely clear: it sounds like ordinary alternative rock. Nevertheless, the radio again penetrates two songs of the collective: "How much", as well as "C4".

Now "Lumen" turns into headliners of local Ufa festivals, and soon they go with a tour of twenty cities in Russia. After the first tour, the musicians immediately release the live album "One Blood". As a bonus, fans get the opportunity to hear new two songs: Blagoveshchensk and Do not Hurry. And on the horizon there was looming a new release - "Freedom". The presentation of the program this time was held in a fashionable Moscow club.

In 2007, the album "Pravda?" Was born, which the musicians again had to publish on their own funds. They explain this by saying that their songs are not always sharpened to the radio format, which does not suit the owners of labels. Moreover, the members of the group try to touch upon the issues of social problems, and often their records become simply a series of successive protests.

Album "The World"

In 2009, the permanent composition of the group "Lumen" presented its fifth studio album "Mir". The musicians said that for each song they had been searching for their unique sound for a long time. In this they were helped by a close-knit team of the Marinsound studio. Apparently, the project participants managed to achieve the desired, because the album was on the 4th place in the list of "best selling albums" in the territory of the Russian Federation.

The musicians initially planned to work on the material in the American studio, but their plans fell through. Therefore, they with their own sound engineer - Vlad Savvateev - went to Krasnodar to the guys from Marinsound. This time, "Lumen" recorded the tracking not individually, but playing all together to reproduce in the album a "live" sound.

As a result, the release contained 14 songs. Critics noted that this time the musicians moved away from social themes and focused on "abstract" lyrics. It was also noticed that the sound of the band remains tough, but, in fact, it has nothing to do with European music, but remains "all the same Russian rock".

Albums "To the Part" and "No Time for Love"

Their sixth album, the guys still managed to "hold out" to European standards: the material for the release of "In Part" was recorded in Russia, but was reduced to Rob Hill. At one time, the sound producer worked with such famous teams as Korn, Queen and Fuel.

Again, the Russian alternative project was supported by "Our Radio", starting the rotation of the songs "Lumen" on the air. In particular, the compositions were "Sky on Fire," "I Have Not Forgiven," "In Part." In total, there were 12 songs in the track-list of the release.

Exactly one year later, in 2013, the musicians repeated a similar scheme of releasing their material. They recorded all the tracking tracks for the album "No time for love" in Ufa, and the mixing and mastering was performed by Rob Hill.

Soon a concert video album of the band "Always 17 - always war" was on sale. His release became possible only thanks to the support of the fans and was organized with the help of crowdsfunding. The name of the video album is due to a line from the composition "Far away" of the group "Lumen". The release includes not only well-known songs, but also a couple of new tracks.

Soloist of the band "Lumen"

The creative work of the collective is greatly influenced by the soloist of the project "Lumen" - Tam Bulatov.

Rustem Bulatov was born in Bashkiria in 1980. The young man did not study vocal - his "school" was participation in the group "Lumen".

Rustem Bulatov tried to graduate from the law faculty of one of the Ufa institutions, but dropped his education shortly before the defense of the diploma. And then the musician left with a head to the work of the band.

Fans regard Rustem as the project leader, but Bulatov says that this is not true. To this day he lives in Ufa. He has a wife and two children.

Bulatov admits that he writes lyrics for songs that would make people think about his life, about his feelings, about what is happening in his state. The musician is sure that Russian society "rises" only when each individual individually begins to work on himself.

The atmosphere in the team

Rock group "Lumen" is a cohesive team: for 15 years of its existence its composition has not changed.

Colleagues of musicians note that the guys from the group are always attentive to their fans, and also to their colleagues.

Maybe that's why the project has so many friends. For example, the official site of the group did not invested a penny - all the work was done on a voluntary basis. The site is freely available to many songs and videos of the group "Lumen". When the musicians are asked a question about the material component, they answer that only once they transferred the copyrights to the album label ("Without preservatives"), and all the rest of the material is free to dispose of it as they please. But with the help of the official website, the band members finally found out that they have fans not only within the Republic of Bashkortostan, but all over Russia.
