A family

General Tsvigun Semyon Kuzmich was married to a famous Soviet writer Rosa Mikhailovna Ermolieva. Semyon Kuzmich's son Mikhail is an employee of the Russian Foreign Ministry, he served as Russia's extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Djibouti (from 1995 to 1999) and in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (from 2003 to 2009).

They also personally wrote scripts for two famous front-line films: "Front Without Flanks" (the premiere of the film took place in 1974) and "The Front Behind Enemy Lines" (premiered in 1981).

The image of Tsvigun in literature and cinema

Soviet writer Julian Semenov used the image of the general in his novel "Secrets of Kutuzovsky Prospekt", which tells about the work of security officials.

In addition, in the joint novel by Eduard Topol and Friedrich Neznansky "Red Square" there is a description of one of the numerous versions of the suicide of the general. However, the novel changed the name: Tsvigun appeared in the book as General Vigun.

In 2004, based on the novel "Red Square" on the Russian screen came the eponymous series, in which the role of Vigun was played by V. Khlevinsky.

Awards of the USSR and foreign states

Death of Zwigun

According to the official version, General Zwigun suffered from severe lung cancer in his later years.

Various rumors related to the circumstances of Tsvigun's death appeared because the members of Leonid Brezhnev's family were not present at the funeral procession, and under the obituary there was no signature of the general secretary himself. As a result, a version appeared on which Semyon Tsvigun was summoned to the central committee to report that in the case of large-scale corruption in state bodies some defendants testified that Tsvigun, a KGB general, is also one of the accomplices in the crime. According to the assumptions, after the conversation in the Central Committee Semyon Tsvigun asked for a day to think over the situation, then went to his home and made a fatal shot.

However, Vladimir Kryuchkov, ex-chairman of the KGB of the USSR, spoke about the death of General Tsvigun Semyon Kuzmich as follows:

"The tragedy that happened in 1982, gave birth to a lot of rumors and conjectures. The fact is that he was diagnosed with a severe form of cancer. We metastasized, which affected his psyche.
