The greatest fires in our country in the XIX-XX centuries

Those who stayed inside the building were poisoned by carbon monoxide. Killed 156 people, injured another 134. As a result of this massive tragedy, 15 children remained orphans.
  • 09/03/2010. A violent fire broke out in the central club of Moscow called "Opera". He also fell into the second category of complexity. One person was killed, one was missing.

In 2013, more than 150 thousand fires were counted in Russia, of which more than 23 thousand people became victims, more than 10 thousand of them died. Total material damage, according to rough estimates, amounted to almost 14 billion rubles.

There is no final data for 2014. But already today, more than 110 thousand fires were recorded, as a result of which about 7 thousand people died.

Goskomstat notes a positive trend towards reducing natural fires. In consequence of the strongest fires in 2010, the state carried out a number of preventive measures - destruction of deadwood, flooding of old peat excavations, generous financing of activities aimed at protecting forests from fires, especially in Siberia and the Far East.
