Theater named after writer Galiaskar Kamal

The Galiascar Kamala Theater (Kazan) was opened in 1906. The first performances of the troupe - "The trouble is because of love" and "A miserable child." They were played in the Tatar language. The first troupe was assembled by Ilyas Kudashev-Ashkazarsky - a teacher from Orenburg. In 1907, Sakhibzhamal Gizzatullin-Volzhskaya was admitted to the theater. She was the first Muslim woman to become an actress, and later she created her own troupe in Ufa.

In 1908 the theater was named "Sayar", which means "Peredvizhnik" in Russian. It was the hearth of the democratization of the people.

In 1911, the theater received a room in the East Club. In 1926 he was awarded the title of "Academic".

In the 30s, the basis of the repertoire was the plays of Russian and foreign classics, translated into Russian.

In 1939, the name of the theater was named Galiaskar Kamala. This year was the anniversary of the writer.

During the war, the artists went to the front line and spoke for the defenders of the Motherland.

In 1957, the theater was awarded the highest award of the Soviet Union - the Order of Lenin.

In the 1960's and 80's. The repertoire included performances: "Faded stars", "Mom arrived", "American", "Invasion", "Mirkay and Aisilu", "Three arshins of the earth", "Kazan towel", "Bride", "Old man from the village of Aldermesh" , "Birthday of Milyausha", "Fugitives".

In 2001 M. Salimzhanov (the main director of the theater) was awarded the Golden Mask prize in the nomination "For Honor and Dignity".

A year later he died, and his disciple Farid Bikchantaev took his place. He heads the Union of Theater Workers of Tatarstan.

Today the troupe often goes on tour to Russia and to foreign countries. He visited Colombia, China, Turkey, Finland, Spain, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, etc. The theater is popular with viewers of the former union republics: Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Estonia, Latvia.

In 2014, the play "One Day in the Summer" based on the play by Jon Fosse was nominated for the Golden Mask Award.

Biography of Galiascar Kamal

Galiaskar Kamala (real name Kamaletdinov) - Tatar writer, was born in 1878. His father was a handicraftsman. Education writer received in Kazan madrasah.

In 1901, Galiaskar Kamala organized a publishing house, which was called "Magarif", produced the newspaper "Progress". He also worked in the editorial offices of Azat Halyk, Azat, Yoldyz. He was the editor and publisher of the satirical magazine Molniya.

Galiaskar Kamala was not only a writer, he translated the works of Russian classics into Tatar. His name is given to the streets in Naberezhnye Chelny, Yelabuga and Kazan.
