Error 800. Description and solutions

Error 800 appears when the user tries to connect to the Internet. Such an annoying problem can occur at the most inopportune moment. Therefore, it is necessary to familiarize yourself in advance with possible causes and methods of its elimination. This article will present the most common reasons and the most effective methods for dealing with a phenomenon like error 800.

Description. This problem is common for all Internet users. VPN error 800 means that the north you are trying to connect to is not currently available. For most ordinary users this information does not mean anything. So let's try to figure it out. In this case, your provider is the server. It does not matter how you connect: directly through the cable or through the router. The error tells us that the server is currently having some problems, because of which you can not now connect to the Internet. But often everything happens vice versa. The problem is in your computer, or rather, in its settings. Consider the most common sources of error:

  • The LAN connection is off;
  • Incorrect VPN server;
  • There is no IP address from the DHCP server;
  • There is no physical connection.

1st case. A 800 VPN error may occur because there is no connection to the local network. On some operating systems, it is referred to as "LAN" or "high-speed connection". But regardless of the name, the local area network must be enabled. For example, in Windows 7 you need to go to "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Network and Internet" - "View network status and tasks". On the left will be "Change adapter settings". In the new window, you need to find the "Local Area Connection", and click on it, in the additional menu, select "Enable". In other operating systems, this instruction may differ, but the meaning remains the same.

2nd case. In the VPN connection settings, there should be individual settings, which may vary depending on your provider. Therefore, to describe the exact server does not make sense. For this information, you need to contact your provider.

The third case. The absence of an IP address can be checked using preinstalled programs of the operating system. The following is an example of Windows 7:

  1. Open "Start" - "All Programs" - "Standard". Select Command Prompt.
  2. A command window opens before you. Write in it ipconfig.
  3. At best, you should have a list with a detailed description of the internet controller. Where is the IP address, subnet mask and default gateway.
  4. If a different kind of information appeared before you, the problem is precisely the lack of reception of an IP address. In this case, you need to contact your provider, as this information is strictly individual.

4th case. Error 800 may indicate a complete lack of connectivity. Namely, when the cable is broken or deformed. Check if the wire is connected to the network card of the computer (or to another device). Carefully examine all components for possible damage.

Follow these instructions to eliminate a phenomenon such as error 800 in order. If none of the above does not help, then you can not do without the help of a specialist.
