Egypt: National Parks of South Sinai.

As more and more tourists want to visit Egypt, the interest of our citizens in the natural attractions of this country is growing. And the first question after the purchase of the coveted burning voucher to Egypt is an overview of articles on the sights that this wonderful country has prepared. This article is devoted to the national parks of the South Sinai, or in other words, the Sharm el-Sheikh region.
From the region Sharm Sheikh tourists are available to visit several national parks

  • Ras Mohamed National Park - is located only ten kilometers from the western outskirts of Sharm Sheikh, so the trip to it will not be tedious for you. We recommend to go to the park in the early morning - while the sun is affectionate and pleasant, as there are very few natural shelters in the park area from the heat. The park is famous primarily for its unusual underwater world, which has more than 1100 species of plants and animals. During the tour you will certainly be shown the research center of Ras Mohamed - a real pride of the inhabitants of Egypt. Also you can see unusual mangroves - a very atypical phenomenon in the Sinai Peninsula. At the end of the journey is a traditional dip with a mask to the enchanting beauty of Ras Mohamed's coral reefs . A coral reef here is really a relic - untouched by nature and man - has existed for several thousand years.
  • St. Catherine's National Park. It unites the religious, spiritual and natural values of our civilization. The basis of the protected zone is Mount Moses, where according to the church tradition, the transmission of the Covenants from God to ordinary people is considered and has occurred. At the foot of the mountain is the oldest monastery, bearing the name of St. Catherine, founded in the 3-4 century BC. On the territory of the monastery an unusual bush grows, to which the church tradition gives biblical conformity with the burning bush - the thorn bush that caught fire, but did not burn before Moses and from which God spoke to him.
We recommend visiting this reserve to combine with the climb to the mountain of Moses, the best time for this - early morning - when the dawn in the mountains looks almost mystical.
  • Abu Galum National Park. Located in the east of Sharm El Sheikh on the shores of the Gulf of Aqaba between Nuweiba and Taba. The main attraction of this national park is truly unearthly landscapes, combining mountain chains, dells and a serene Red Sea mirror. In the national park traditionally live the ancient tribes of Bedouin - the ancient desert aborigines, who lived in Egypt long before the Arab advent. It is here that we should go to the so-so-beloved "Beduinka" - ethnotour to visit the ancient inhabitants of the stony desert. Sweet shisha and fragrant tea under a clear starry sky You will remember forever

We will always be happy to help you both with the selection of a burning tour to Egypt, and with advice on any excursion program. Respect your travel agency Mer-Ka-Ba.
